Baseball has been the closest of those, finishing second at the CWS twice.

Baseball looks to be on the right track again. Women's basketball should get better with the new hire. Men's basketball needs a change.

Baseball may be getting a change soon too.

I personally think both Baseball and M Basketball need a change before we're winning any titles. We're closest in Track and Field IMO

Why? We were abysmal last year and were probably the most improved team in the conference this year.

That was my thinking too. Just some rumblings I've heard this morning.

It would be interesting if Alabama took Florida's approach... where EVERYONE is held to the standard of being national contenders. This would mean a lot of hiring and firing (ie, what must be done eventually, should be done immediately), but it could be done and would up the quality across the board.

Baseball is about the Jimmys and Joes not the Xs and Os. If he recruits well and gets us to the postseason he deserves more time. If he fails to advance in the postseason every year he should be replaced.

The next closest non-title team to winning it appears to be the Women's Tennis Team, who finished int he Sweet Sixteen this year, their highest finish ever, In fact the past 3 seasons have each been respectively the best in program history. No reason to think next year won't be even better for them.

and improving the facilities is a must if you are going to get the jimmies and the joes.

I no longer stand behind this statement. His pink slip should be waiting on his desk tomorrow morning after what he just did to that poor kid. frick him.

I'd have to agree. I think Gaspard can do more and better with more time.... but I think his ceiling is going to be between making super regionals and/or going out of the CWS with a wimper.

Infact, it will be even HARDER to get rid of him then.

I hope, and think, Battle possesses the ability to pull the plug that Moore never developed. Gaspard is truly a terrible game manager, especially when it comes to pitching. I've watched him for 3 years, and he hasn't gotten any better
