Something seems fishy coming out of Lousiana. My theory is the District Attorney made his statement to put it back on the university of Alabama and save face for the police dept. People within the Athletic dept were told weeks ago there was little to no chance to prosecute these guys.
The DA couldn't have prosecuted you or I with the evidence and way the charges were brought about. He makes this phony statement about football players to avoid the police department taking it on the chin for screwing up the entire process.

Probably. But the narrative moving forward will be they got off because they are big time college athletes. It is what it is.

I think the DA just made a piss poor attempt at articulating what he was thinking on this case. He was clear that although there was an illegal weapon in the car, he couldn't prove who put it there or when it was put there. The other weapon was legal and not concealed.

The amount of dope in the car was about a thimble full.

I think what he should have and probably meant to say was that he wasn't going to ruin the lives of two guys that had made a life of right decisions and worked their arse off to get where they are by indicting them on a case that wasn't winnable in court.

I have to remind retarded arse Aubs that this is a town that put up a fricking billboard when they beat UA but all of the sudden they are going to give the same school preferential treatment. That's just asinine thinking.

Which my exactly my point. Why make that public comment unless he has some other motive?

Bingo. Being in a position to have access to the legal system is huge. By having access, I mean beyond a public defender.

Yes, and why wasn't this fact even mentioned for weeks?

Has that been confirmed? Sorry, I really don't follow these things closely.

Would have been more awesome if judge had found a way to mention REC in his statement.
