How quickly we forget 2012 AJ throwing deep balls

I think the point is more about Blake hitting guys in stride. AJ hit them, but alot were slightly underthrown (i.e. the receiver had to wait on the ball). I think that's the point. I remember the A&M game in 2012 Coop having to break stride, right before the Yeldon fumble. If we hit him in stride, it would have been a TD. AJ was great but Sims does appear to be better with the deep throws. AJ was surgical on the short/intermediate stuff as well as those sideline throws.

Two more deep balls that jump out are the two big plays from the SECCG that season. The jump ball and the go ahead TD. On the go ahead TD Cooper actually slows down because AJ is looking at Norwood, but AJ quickly looks over and sees the damage Coop had done to the corner and lets it rip. Coop turns on the jets and runs under it beautifully). It was a great play by both guys, but I think it also shows the difference in the progressions. Blake is normally looking at Coop 1st, AJ seemed to prefer Kenny and Kevin. Could be a comfort thing since they had been playing together for so long.

TLDR: AJ threw some great deep passes, but Blake seems to hit the guys in stride a bit better. Its splitting hairs in all honesty though. Both are great Alabama QB's and we should be happy that there wasnt much of a dropoff at the position, if any at this point in the season...
