Carroll ain’t leaving the Seahawks, but the biggest reason he left USC was because he knew the NCAA hammer was about to fall.

Local sports talk had Steve Roberston (247 MSU site mod/writer) on this am. Sarkisian mentioned as still being in play, but conversation focused more on The Pirate, Napier, Grantham (whose son will be playing baseball for MSU) and Hudspeth. Roberston did not mention Sark until the host asked about him and the MSU job.

True enough. I also think he must have gotten his coaching career straightened out while at USC. Dude was such a bust in his previous attempts in the NFL.

This is the main downside of hiring former head coaches of major teams as coordinators. As soon as they get some success with us other teams come get them. We need to find some guys that like being coordinators for a while

The barbs about to be traded between Leach and Kiffin will be fun.

Jesus, what a strange fit. At least the Mississippi schools weren't afraid to get weird.

I think it’s a good fit program wise. The dude thrives in the spoiler role but doesn’t really recruit well enough to run a top school

Please, does anyone have sources that say that Pete Golding will be the next head coach at Washington?

Agreed. On the surface it seems like a odd fit, but Leach was pretty good at Texas Tech and it's very similar to MSU.

He'd actually be a good fit as DC at MSU, imo. And a good fit with Mike leach, since Golding kinda looks like a pirate

I personally like Pete as a fit for literally every opening out there right now!

His single season with the Jets was bad, but he won the division once, made the playoffs 2 of his 3 seasons, and never had a losing season in New England. He won as many games in his only 3 seasons as Parcell won in his last three. That's far from being a big bust.

The biggest problem he had while he was there was that Drew Bledsole was on the down side of his career and some dude named Brady was stuck handing the ball off to people for Lloyd Carr.
