Recently-named assistant coach Mike Locksley will reportedly also serve as co-offensive coordinator at Alabama, according to a report from FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman. BamaOnLine has confirmed this report concerning Locksley's promotion.
Locksley, 47, was hired as a full-time offensive assistant Jan. 16, and although his on-field duties were not released, the addition fills the vacancy left by offensive tackles and tight ends coach Mario Cristobal, who recently left the Crimson Tide program for Oregon's co-offensive coordinator position.
During his time as Maryland's offensive coordinator (2012-15), the Terrapins produced balanced and effective results on the field. The 2013 offense eclipsed 5,000 yards of total offense for only the fourth time in program history, while accounting for 3,231 yards passing (third most all-time).
Locksley also served as the offensive coordinator at Illinois (2005-08). The Illini went from No. 72 nationally in total offense in 2005 to 19th following the 2008 season.
The former Maryland and New Mexico head coach will assist Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian, who like Locksley, served as an analyst this season.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the 10th coach on the field being added in April?
Meaning we gave Locksley the Co-OC title (and money) to keep other schools from making a run at him.

Offensive is one word to describe Locksley's offenses.
I honestly thought Napier when I opened the 247 article...

This promotion makes sense for obvious reasons. It's also looking good for 10th coach to be approved soon by the NCAA.
