Both are better runners than any of the last four. Sims is decidedly better at this point. Jake may have better upside but he has not closed the gap yet.

And thanks for granting me access. Roll Tide

If it were so damned obvious who should start, as many of you claim, I think it would be obvious to our coaches too.

Well now, that's funny, because I've been to both games and I'm pretty sure that I saw Blake Sims run out there for the first possession each game. And I'm also pretty sure that Saban and Kiffin didn't just look up and see Sims running out there and look at each other and say "What the frick is he doing out there?"

So yeah, I would say that so far it has been pretty damn obvious to them who should start, because that's who's started.

What's really fricking stupid is for any Bama fan to say I want this guy to start or that guy to start. If Saban thinks Cam Robinson should start at QB, so be it. I want to win ball games. Do I really give a frick which QB starts?

As of the first two games, Sims gives us a much better chance to win. Coker couldn't get the play in. He kept telling LK he didn't get the play. That will get us beat just as easily as anything Sims has done.

And Sims kept calling the wrong formations in the second quarter of the WVU game which is why Coker was told to warm up and he seemed to be the only guy on offense that thought the play he called on the goal line was a handoff against FAU.

And Saban didn't put Coker in because Sims settled down and stopped doing that.

Unlike some of the other obvious agendas, I just want Bama to win. Sims has obviously looked way better and ahead of Coker.

And I saw the team respond much more positively with Sims in. I think that's a huge piece as well.

It's more than just who can throw a long ball (regardless of accuracy.).

I doubt anyone has an agenda.

I like how you ignore the point and attack semantics. I (and Saban) said the starting job wasn't his yet. Obviously one guy or the other has to play first. And, as I've said, Sims does know the offense better than Coker at this point. He absolutely should.

Nor have I said I want this guy or that guy to start. I've just said that I think Sims has some severe limitations and I don't know how far we can go with him. Obviously Coker is not ahead of him at this point.

Let's see how you feel about 30 bubble screens after the FL game, assuming Sims starts.

Maybe...but I'm thinking (and I could be wrong) that we're just showing a bit of the offense and that against UF we'll show 'em some different looks. As far as offense goes, I don't see much changing this week against Southern Miss...but once SEC play starts, I think (and I hope) that we open up the playbook a bit. From what I've read from practice sessions, Sims was actually throwing the deeper balls fairly well...and his best throw last Saturday, a 25-yarder to Christion Jones, was right on the money and Jones dropped it. If he can consistently make that throw, we'll be alright. As for Coker, I still think he'll be good...but I also think it'll take him some time to get acclimated; how much time is the question though...

I'm actually more worried about the defense right now than I'm the offense...I know we shut out FAU but we should've had a lot more 3 and outs than we did. They ran the ball well against our line in a couple of drives and were able to turn the corner with sweeps/screens when they ran away from Eddie Jackson's side. We don't seem to be very aggressive on D...at least not what we've been accustomed to in past years...

Watch the play again. Every player was run blocking except for Yeldon and OJ.

Just stop the lies.

You talking about the pass that Jones could only get his fingertips on? That would have been a tough catch.

I keep thinking the same thing. I didn't know if I was forgetting a pass, or if the one that people keep referencing as "Jones dropped" was the one that was WAY high. It would have been a miraculous catch. The fact that it was too high wasn't mentioned by Andre Ware, of course. It has to be another pass people keep mentioning. I can't remember them all.

I'm honestly not sure we're talking about the same pass. The one on the sidelines? If we are, I'll have to go back and look at it, but my immediate reaction is - OK. Stop listening to the announcers and pay attention.

Yeah, watched it last night on SECN. He should have caught it.

I've watched the game 3 or 4 times. I'll check out that play again, but every other time I've watched it, it looked like Jones barely touched it even after stopping and jumping as high as he could. In fairness to you, I COULD be wrong. They didn't replay that play at all and it was a very quick shot.

I think that's the one...it was a crossing pattern with Jones runnin' the route toward the Bama side of the field, 'bout 20-25 yards downfield...I think Cooper, White, or Black would've caught it...not impressed with Jones' hands so far this year...and I don't see how Sims could've thrown that pass much better...
