He thinks it will be FSU, Clemson, Auburn, and UCLA with Clemson winning it all.

Its hard to make any kind of solid prediction about this season until we see what we have at QB. Captain Obvious statement but Coker could have all the tools but be weak mentally. We just don't know yet.

Personally, I am more interested in how our offensive line will look because I think that will be more indicative of how well our offense will look. If they look good and we are able to establish a strong running game, then I feel that we will be very difficult to beat.

I really am only worried about two games. LSU and Auburn. I don't see Florida having enough offensively or Ole Miss having enough defensively to hang with us.

LSU is in a bit of a similar situation to us, but I feel that we are a bit better. Our biggest weakness defensively will likely be the secondary, but based on what we saw last year and the fact that they are breaking in a new QB as well, I feel that they will be unable to consistently exploit this weakness. Their running game will likely be formidable because of the experience and size they have on the offensive line as well as the talent they have at RB. LF may or may not be great, but it is certainly entirely too early to tell. Defensively, their biggest weakness is likely going to be lack of experience in the front 7. I think we match up well in that regard because we should have a strong running game.

As far as Auburn is concerned, I don't really know what to think. If Lawson is out, I would feel pretty good about our ability to pass on them, but if not, it may get a bit tougher. They were pretty stout in run defense against us last year, but I don't know if they can keep that up again. Once again, I am a bit concerned about going up against their offense. While I like the improvement we saw at A-Day in the front 7, it is possible that was partially due to poor QB play. Still, the loss of Tre Mason should be a pretty big loss whether they want to admit it or not, and that is huge in our favor. Hopefully, we are a bit more athletic up front and able to create a lot of disruption. Auburn seems to be the type of team that plays off of a lot of emotion, and I really feel like if Auburn loses a game or two early, they won't be nearly the same team.

I think that's pretty true. You look at the years where they have success and too often they are never the same team at the end of the year that they were at the beginning.

That said, our record against "quality" Auburn teams is downright pathetic. That's the stat that worries me.

But I also like the stat that Saban is 15-1 the next year when playing a team that beat him the year before.

I think that stat is completely overblown. Looking at the time period after the Iron Bowl began being played again, when Auburn is quality, more often than not Alabama is down.

Agreed. I love when Auburn fans use this stat because it is pretty much admitting that Auburn cannot seem to consistently field a good team.

Don't get me wrong. I think they'll be good next year, but they aren't exactly the poster child for consistent success.

Have we gotten any updates on the progress of our CBs and injured players?

I think tomorrow we may get an Eddie Jackson update.

For sure. Look at the difference between 2012 and 2013. They didn't look all that different to start the year with 2013 being a bit better, but by the end of the year, they could not have been more different teams.

This and yes I hate we lost the way we did but UA last year was not a great team. We were solid and played up enough to win a lot of games but we never seemed to gel as a team and the talent on the field never came together at one time. Each week it seemed like someone different had to step up and there was no consistency all season. Yes we finished 11-2 but there was games I was on the edge of the seat concerned about. AU can boost all they want but the fact is they played their best game possible against us and it barely got them a win. UA did not play well in that game and stayed in it until the end. Don't get me wrong they were the better team but their best barely beat our average. No different than 2010 when they won it all. They beat us having to come back but we also finished 4th in SEC West that season.

I have yet to see under Saban UA have a great team on the field, firing on all cylinders, and AU winning.
