can't believe Howard wasn't even targeted.

He was targeted once. Good throw, bad decision. INT.

Gameplan was to throw short and attack the perimeter with the passing game. Howard will be more involved. Especially with White out for a game or two.

Well, technically the play was fine. Sims has what he wanted, but he stared down OJ and the corner broke off Coop to pick off OJ. If Sims saw that late and pumped then threw to Coop, he could have saved it. But you can't expect a guy in his first start to make that play.

Sims impressed me but he's prone to bad throws.

Yeah, but that could have been some first game jitters. If he does so so down the field again, things will get interesting.

We'll have to just outscore em.

I don't see Sims improving his downfield passing. At least not on a consistent basis. Do y'all see Saban allowing for some "unbama" like offense?

Dammit I believe in this team I just think for them to achieve what they and all of us want they're gonna have to be unconventional at times this year. This is NOT one of those years that conservative, mistake free football is gonna give them a good chance at the SEC and NC. The team is what it is. If they're going down, let em go down knowing it was a lack of skill. Throw some shite at opposing defenses!

Another thing. Saban said during post game that Sims was much better without a huddle. What's that about? For someone inexperienced I'd figure a nice little meeting between snaps would be comforting no?

It's easier to run HUNH. Calls for it are simpler, D is off balanced (especially when they don't expect it), and you get in a better rhythm if you're going faster.

I think we'll see some HUNH mixed in here and there every year. If Coker ends up taking over (not saying he will, but the possibility exists) then Sims will still play.

Put Henry in and go no huddle....that's just not fair.

I am super nervous about that game

Might be a defensive mechanism, but I couldn't be more excited and at ease about this season. I've completely tampered any expectations and am just looking at this season for what it is, while trying to really understand why and how the team works.

In the past I could sound like a genius talking about the Tide because I knew exactly what they had. This year seems different, and I'm enjoying it.
