I seem to recall him completing several 3 and longs with his arm.

I definitely could be wrong..

This just confirmed to me that we were badly outcoached by a better staff. We are the best recruiters consistently with top rated classes but even in that area we were left with talent and number problem at OL. We were also badly equipped to deal with the loss of AJ. Saban is a lot more human than we sometimes think.

Here's to another 10 or 11 win season that we probably won't appreciate. Cheers.

Yep and part of that showed with how Elliott ran wild on us. He is good, no doubt but still...

we actually did a pretty good job for most of the game, but we have up 2 huge runs. Half their rushing yards came on 2 plays, on the other 40 odd rushing attempts we held them to a 3.5 ypc average. Both those big runs led to points, field goal and a touchdown, and both were misses by depriest (he just wiffed the tackle on the first one and then let spencer block him along with hamilton on the td run)

at one point in the second quarter when we were rolling, i swore we had stuck the qb for a safety. we didnt get the call or even a review. i think they went on to score later in the drive.

that seemed like a pivotal point where we had all the momentum and their defense on its heels. if that call went our way, we probably would have scored again and been on our way to a big lead and possibly a different outcome. osu seemed to get stronger as the game went on. like ingrams fumble in the 2010 iron bowl, one bad break didnt lose the game for us, but you cant help but wonder how it wouldve played out had it gone the other way.

OSU was more physical, wanted it more, and outcoached us. Simple as that. Our lead in the 2nd quarter was a bit of Fool's Gold because our defense hadn't really proven that we could stop them. As noted, our 3rd Down defense was atrocious and our offense didn't do anything to keep the chains moving.

Teams that return alot of talent from a championship team very rarely live up to expectations or win another title. We have been in that position ourselves in both 2010 and 2013. I'd love a shot at OSU in the playoffs this year, preferably in the championship game. I think Saban and our players would be ready to unleash hell on them. Our front 7 is going to be sick this year and Coker/Cornwell will be a battle tested veteran by then.
