Last year Kiff tailored the offense around Blake, Coop and Drake. After Drake went down it was basically Blake and Coop. With a fresh start and Drake returning, what do you guys think the offense will look like? I expect longer drives and more clock management, but still with lots efficiency. Foster, Stewart and Drake will be the passing targets primarily. Once Harris gets into his groove he will be featured more as well. Hopefully O.J. gets it together and commands the ball. Which ever q.b. wins the battle just needs to be manage the game, the weapons are there.

I read on the scout forum that an insder (can't remember his name) was doing all he could to hold back a secret of what the offense will look like this year, but he compared it to "Bryant switching to the wishbone"

The guy apparently has a radio show and is well connected with the program, attends the media viewing period at practice and all that, not just some schmuck off the street. He hinted at a monumental change from the way it read

He mentioned there could be some subpackages for bateman, which leads me to believe we could actually run some variation (from time-to-time) of a tyler watts style triple option attack

Don't be surprised if we present a ton of looks against wisconsin so that Ole Miss has to try to preapre for anything and everything

From all the clues, it seem to point to Bama doing a lot of HUNH this year.

Or at least some variation to lock in favorable matchups...

They're definitely hiding something.

But honestly, I think even before all the hints, half the fans would have been surprised to see our traditional offense, and the other half would have been surprised if we ran HUNH. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised by anything they trot out.

I'm not going so far as to predict something that revolutionary, but I think we're in store for something very different and it will involve a lot of no-huddle.

Too many hints about it in the off season.

From today:

@AaronSuttles: Saban: O.J. Howard is one of our best players, so we're going to feature him in every way we can.

Great to hear, but we heard similar quotes from last year too.

I heard some call it the HUWNH (Hurry Up and Wait No Huddle). The object being to get up to the ball quick, limit substitutions on defense, be ready to snap it if someone is changing out players, but to sit on the ball and run the clock if the defense is just going to stand there.

That was me, and it should be noted that I have no inside sources, no connections, and limited reading skills.

That would be Ryan Fowler from Tide 99.1. I wouldn't read too much into it. 99.1 used to carry Finebaum in the afternoons and switched to Ryan this past Monday. The timing is a bit suspect. He's trying to get people interested in his show and even had that guy from College Football Scoop on his show yesterday with his ridiculous Saban rumor.

Take it with a grain of salt.

I was wondering about this. Do they still play FBaum until 5?

I think it depends on who's running it.The QB.

I kinda get the feeling that they could go down the field like a 'Fast Break" hitting open receivers.

A QB that grasps the offense might put up some gaudy passing stats.

No...Ryan is from 2-6. Fbaum is gone. 99.1 is moving to a more local format. Wimp even has a morning show on there now.

I think we see a lot of read option and QB runs. Some hurry up and lots of intermediate passing.
