Hmmm, what does this mean?

Lane Kiffin was 'more than just sitting in the room and listening' on his visit to Tuscaloosa weeks ago, per person close to situation.

Sounds like he helped with the offensive game plan for the Sugar Bowl.

I keep hearing about his recruiting prowess, who are some of his big name recruits that he was responsible for bringing to USC and UT?

I did read somewhere that he was adamantly against taking Russell as the 1st pick overall by the Raiders so that gives me a little hope in his recognizing talent skills.

Just remember, you heard all this here first:

Lane Kiffin to Alabama as OC

James Franklin to Penn St. as HC

Kirby Smart to Vanderbilt as HC

Monty Kiffin to Alabama as DC

I think this is a good thing.
If he couldn't coach offense coach Saban
wouldn't waste his time with Kiffin.
It's not like Kiffin will get a chance to talk
to the media except for post season interviews
It will be nice to have two former NFL HC's
He would do well in recruiting.

I dont think it really matters who our OC is to be honest. We're going to run the same stuff, and we are absolutely stacked.

If this is true, then why in the hell would we associate with that cancerous douchebag? I will have trouble cheering for my alma mater with that count in Crimson. Roll Tide.

What did he do to you? I mean really?
I dare you to watch his interviews after being fired and come away thinking he is some monster.

He made mistakes at USC, so what? Bama just wants him to be the OC, not Head Coach.

He's hardly a monster. So Bama wants to get away from the "entitlement" mentality by hiring the most entitled, over-rated prick in the sport? It ain't gonna happen.

BTW, I still can't really stand Lance Thompson.

Two out of last three OCs Saban hired were nudged out the door within two years.

Lane Kiffin is expected to be offered the OC position at Alabama within the next hour. Sources close to the action say he will accept today.

Seriously, I hate this. For the record. When this blows up in our face. ETA: Prepare for a lot of laughing and "desperation" threads.. I don't blame them.

People didn't like Nick Saban's personality at first.
Maybe Kiffin has grown up and deserves this chance.
If Nick wants Lane well who is any fan to judge?
Nick isn't going to let a punk poison his program.
I don't care if Kiffin is an a-hole, just as long as he
does his job as a coach and does it well. Fantastic.
I want our team to win.
