If that report accurately represents the candidate pool, I'd say Kiffin is the odds-on favorite to land that job.

Meh, I bet if Houston falls through, other opportunities will pop up.

I agree with Boz, if he doesn't get Houston, he is gone to LSU. Too much smoke

Well he could probably "get" the LSU job today if he wanted it.

He already has the LSU job. The only thing to stop him from going there is the Houston head coaching job. I'm pretty sure that's what Boz is saying

Let's hope he gets the Houston job, just so it screws with LSU.

I don't think it's any secret he could have had the LSU job any time he agreed to it.

Lane not getting a contract extension should have been a hint to everyone, that he was gone reguardless of the job openings available

Boz, I read a post of yours from a long time ago that said this would be his last year. It was on a different site, but you called this well before the season even started

Is anyone saying what one thing caused Lane to be told to find a job? Or was it just time to go?

Whats crazy about all the Kiffin LSU/Bama debate is based on what he has done at Bama as our OC..
He has really earned that bump as an Offensive coordinator to HC.
It's ALSO a great sell for UH recruiting wise post Herman. Three playoff appearances and a national title as a Offensive coordinator.
What's a bigger fear than as the OC for LSU is him getting the UH job and plucking off our staff for positions.

I had posted this before but I was told he was trying to piece his personal life back together and was told he would need to move on after this year. Whichever took priority to him I dunno.

Is the RB coach going with him? Nope.
How about the WR coach? Nah
the O-line coach? negative

He won't be able to offer anyone a raise over what Bama would be willing to pay them. If he got the job and he was smart, he'd offer Napier the OC job. That's the only way he'd get someone to go with him. That said, Billy's wife just recently gave birth and I'm not sure he'd be ready to move right now unless job was perfect.
