Just how good of a qb is he? Is he the type to step in as a freshman and take over at Alabama....if so, will coach make the switch?
I think he comes in and if not from the start, at some point he becomes the starter. There's a few holes to field on offense but overall he will have a good nucleus to work with. Coach is running out of seasons and I think he will do what's best for the team for now on.

Sayin has zero chance of starting next year. Less then zero. Simpson has zero chance of starting next year.

Saban will absolutely start milroe next year.

Maybe...maybe not. But with a 12 team playoff, you almost have a mulligan game. I could see him sticking with Milroe unless Ty really shows something this spring...but also pulling the trigger after the first L...if it comes. Ty transferring after the spring would be his worst move. He'd already be behind if he transferred to another major program with not a good shot at starting immediately. Better to stick around like Hurts did for one more season even if he's not named the starter Things like injuries happen. If the opportunity doesn't come, then you transfer following the '24 season with eligibility remaining and go through spring ball wherever with a legitimate shot at competing to start the following fall.

But that's if Milroe is starting again. It absolutely should be an open competition this spring.

I heard back in high school Sayin could throw a pigskin a quarter mile.

It was only 60 yards, and to be fair… I was about 20 lbs lighter at the time.

For better or worse, CNS is fiercely loyal to upper class men starters, even if a younger player is clearly better. This has been the case over and over and over. There’s no reason to believe anyone will replace Milroe won’t be the starter. To fanatasize otherwise is a waste of time.

I have said this a million times. If Saban would not start Tua in 2017 up until the point he did, NOBODY has a chance to start in front of Milroe next season.

And Milroe had his chances to show what he could do this year. Lost 2 games and in my opinion he is at his ceiling. If we still had Golding, he probably has 4 loses.

Anyway next years schedule will require a dynamic QB capable of calling audibles, sliding pass protection calls based on what he sees, capable of taking what the defense is giving, capable of having a pocket awareness and presence. Milroe has three full seasons of major college football under his belt and still displays the shortcomings of a high school QB or a true freshman straight out of high school.

Sabans years are numbered and he needs to move past this loyalty/ deserving BS. These are professionals now and if the elder player is not getting the job done then it’s next man up time.

Amarillo has been paying close attention to Sabans track record and is absolutely correct.

Ty sticking around might mean Sayin transferring.

Tua would probably have transfered had Hurts not been benched.

So is that what we want?

You guys act like the #1 high school qb prospect is chopped liver.

Get over Ty already. If he can't beat put Jalen this year he needs to go.

To answer the original question, Sayin is a very very good prospect in the same league as a Tua or a Bryce.

People point out Hurts vs Tua, but for me the worst example of this was Yeldon over Henry in 2013 and 2014. Had one of the greatest running backs in football history ride the pine as a freshman and get only occasional carries as a sophomore. Bama threepeats easily in 2013 with Henry as the feature back.

I think we’ll find out week 4 next year. Until then, it’s Milroe’s job to lose unless Wisconsin is better than we think.

Henry AND Drake rode the bench behind Yeldon. Yeldon will still go down as a legend for that screen against LSU though.

That is another great example.

I think we could think similar things about this year when we see Haynes next year.

I completely understand the old school though about playing the guy older guy who has been around. I know it’s hard for Saban to change this way of thinking. But surely he can see that todays a different time with the portal and NIL. These younger guys when there is a clear deficiency in the position must get playing time. You truly have to think of each individual season as a one time all star season. Then rebuild the roster the next year. If you have older players leave then so be it. The younger guy was better. And you can always fill in needs from the portal.

Not the direction I wanted for football but it’s here to stay.

If ty sits next year and starts year after next, Sayin will transfer. Just like Tua would not have stayed a second year to sit behind Jalen.

Down vote away. But thes five star, elite eleven winners do not typically sit for two years, particularly in the age of NIL.

So all I'm suggesting is, unless Ty is CLEARLY BETTER it would be a stupid, stupid mistake.

i think we just seen a prime example with haynes gaining yards on his carries then no more carries in favor of jase.
