Everything I’ve seen says Petersen is healthy and it’s not family related.
He just wants to “recharge.”

A recharged Petersen taking over after Saban would be ideal next decade. 
Other speculation was Lake was going to land a major hc gig somewhere and UW pushed Petersen out of the hc role. I was never big on Lake as Pete's replacement, though. He's better suited as an Ed O/Cristobal HC CEO type.

Not if Lake is the main guy pulling in recruiting talent and Petersen's health has been an issue. OU did the same with Bob Stoops/Lincoln Riley.

Yea - seems like one helluva risk. And that play could hire somebody, I'd think. Stable, good roster, great stadium, great fanbase. Everything is set up for success.
Will be interesting to watch.
