Wanted to share this from a friend connected with Bama:

When all is said and done, I will not be able to say enough good things about Jalen Hurts. He has exhibited character and a team-first attitude that I truly can say I have never witnessed.

Last year after the NC game the transfer hype train (heavily driven by Jalen's dad) was running wide open. As the season began, the articles popped up every week. Game 1 arrived and Jalen contributed when his number was called. He did the same for the first 4 games - the limit allowed for a redshirt to be kept in tact.

Then came game 5 - and Jalen AGAIN contributed when his number was called. He has done this consistently - contributed when his number was called. He just keeps putting TEAM first.

And, getting historical, I will NEVER forget being in FL when Jalen made the amazing touchdown run to give us the lead for the NC in the rematch with Clemson. He did what he did best in improvising and getting the job done. Did our O struggle in that game? Sure. Did we have too many 3 and outs? Yep. But, our D never bowed its back when our O struggled. And, when Jalen secured the lead SO VERY LATE in the game, our D just did not have enough in the tank to stop DWatson and the Clemson O. Maybe CU was the better team that day. Maybe not. But, Jalen put us in position LATE and it slipped away.

Now, as we approach the SECCG - and hopefully a run into our 5th playoff - the transfer chatter is ramping up. But, when asked about, Jalen focuses on this team.

In the words of FunnyMaine - go Jalen. In the thoughts and actions and attitude of Jalen - ROLL TIDE!

Hats off to Jalen!

I do hope we get another crack at Clemson. That 2016 loss still stings. And I want Renfrow to suffer.

Ummm...did you fall asleep last year?

We got another crack at Clemson and we won. We even used their own pick play against them for a touchdown...

Jalen Hurts will be a legend at Alabama. I don’t think anyone will fault him when the time comes to transfer if he chooses to do that. It’s evident how much our fanbase appreciates him every time he steps on the field at Bryant Denny. It’s typically the loudest cheer of the game

Jalen secured the lead SO VERY LATE in the game, and defense never bowed its back

You should know it by rote by now.

Nice post. I will own that I mistakenly believed early this season, as did most others, that Jalen was synonymous with the comments his parents/dad made and I believed the story that Jalen had held a team meeting where he suggested he was not going to be loyal to the team if he didn't get to start. I thought I saw sullenness and distain in Jalen's eyes and on his face on the sidelines. I was wrong. Jalen has been a humble team player and acquitted himself well. I'm impressed with the kid.

He has to hear all the stuff, like the ESPN article yesterday, about how coaches were wanting him replaced with Tua by the 6th game last year. He had to hear all of the receivers whispering. He had to see them acting out on the field during games when he made a bad throw. But the guy has largely kept his mouth shut, taken the high road and remained strong. I hope the best for Jalen.

Yeah but it wasn’t satisfying. We had pre-Enos Jalen vs. non-Watson/Lawrence Clemson in a defensive struggle.

I want a true rematch.

Man Alabama beat that arse last season. Dabo was so shook he told Chris Fowler they lost the game on the opening kick off when they got pinned behind the 20.

Couldn’t be said any better. I associated him with the comments as well and couldn’t have been more wrong. Nothing but a classy young man. Bama is lucky to have/had Jalen and wish him nothing but the best whatever he decides. Just unlucky for him to have been here while Tua is here

I hope Jalen transfers to Oklahoma and has the time of his life next year leading them to the playoffs.

Dude deserves it.

Yea, I honestly thought last year may have been even more satisfying.

We were a slug on offense and it didn't matter. We just suffocated that arse. We physically beat them silly. It was a mauling.

That dink and dunk session on the Clemson final drive was extremely satisfying. They tried to make the score "respectable" and got smashed in the red zone. Dabo and his clown arse was on his knees shaking his head.

I’d rather get Ohio state the first round and ND to pull off the upset if I’m honest.

A Tip-o-The-Hat to Mr Jalen Hurts!

20 years from now when people are reminiscing about the good old days of bama football. when they sing the praises of Tua they'll still remember the humility of Jalen Hurts.

Do y’all think he could be used in the NFL the same way the Saints use Taysom Hill? He’s such a good athlete. If not he’s already graduated and will be in some form of grad school next year. The dude is a class act and will leave Bama with the 2nd most touchdowns accounted for

Wasn't being an arse. I was giving my reaction to what I deemed a null post. Is that forbidden?

You could have just not commented. No, being an arse (which is what you were) is not forbidden.
