Coker graduating in 3 years tells me he is smart. He won't have a hard time with the playbook if he makes it the first part of the summer. If you will recall the AU QB did not make it to school until the start of 2 a days. NOt like he is going to be learning an entire new Offensive scheme.

I was underwhelmed with this highlights but bringing him in gives us another option and will make the QB battle more competitive.

I think it's Coker's to lose.

I completely agree. Realistically, I cant see Saban starting a true freshman at QB. Also FSU's offensive scheme appears very similar to ours which will give Coker the advantage in learning our playbook in such a short period of time. However, the Spring game highlights and limited game film that I watched of Coker wasn't overly impressive. Coker seemed a bit indecisive and inaccurate with his throws. I am cautiously optimistic about his future at BAMA. Hopefully Im not coming across as overly negative or anything I just don't see what all the hype is at this point.

I agree with everything you said.....I wasn't impressed either but he's at least showed glimpse of being able to move the ball. We all know what it's like watch a team struggle at QB....IT CAN BE AWFUL.

Report: Jacob Coker commits to Alabama

Alabama may have lost a commitment this weekend from a five-star 2015 quarterback, but they, as expected, gained one from a player at the position who could help them immediately.

According to a report from BamaOnline.com, Jacob Coker committed to the Tide this weekend. Coker informed head coach Nick Saban of his decision Saturday, the website reported.

Coker also met with Lane Kiffin, with the website writing that the redshirt sophomore was “very impressed” with the new UA offensive coordinator. In a sign of his level of commitment to and comfortability with the Tide, Coker stated that he will take no additional visits to other schools.

Really wanna see what Kiffin can do with Coker.

The Spring will be interesting though, they know Coker is coming, so they'll up their game. Will be interesting to see who, if anyone, gets eliminated from the race. Sims, unless he has some shitastic Spring, will probably not be. Cornwell may be likely no matter how good he plays, since Saban doesn't play true freshmen at QB. Bateman, McLeod, and Morris. I think one of that trio may end up playing themselves out of it. If I'm one of them, don't try to do too much to impress Saban, just do exactly what you should.

Auburn and LSU fans are so rustled about this. This off season is going to be great.

Just had a thought. If we win in 2014 and 2015, Coker will leave College with 3 rings in 5 years. Same as AJ.
