I don't look at other team rosters and am like many sports fans in that I look at what a team did last year and who's coming back.

I question our QB play, especially the way Kiffin loves to throw the ball. Nobody will be as good as Cooper was. imho.

Everyone talks about our front7 on defense but our defense was bad much of last year.

I'll whine about all the teams we play with two weeks to prepare again, and it looks like 2010 all over with a harder schedule.

Hell almost every SEC team we play has as good a starting 22 as everyone else., and whether any of our rivals like it or not Alabama is every teams extra effort game.

I'm looking forward to it. I hope the players are too.

I'm going to predict 2 losses due to conservative play and mistakes in crunch time. 3 losses if injuries happen to a key player.

EDIT: Don't waste much time on this post as Im more than ready for it to fall down the page. I should refrain from posting drunk but...well at least I didnt put it on the rant

There was a lot of talk about dominating the lines of scrimmage at the SEC media days. Perhaps we are going back to a more QB friendly offense where the QB doesn't have to put the team on his shoulders to win (ala McElroy and McCarron's first year)

Perhaps the sum total of the parts will be greater than Cooper. The problem with Coop is when tOSU triple teamed him, we often had nowhere else to go. This year with ArDarius, Rob Foster, and Chris Black/Calvin Ridley, we should be able to have more options for the QB. Add in Richard Mullaney as an experienced receiver.

Bad is relative. Yes, our pass defense was bad, but our rush defense was good for the most part. Sure, it might have been bad by 2011 standards, but the front seven wasn't the reason we lost two games last year.

If we can get good play out of our safeties, then our defense will be much better. Having a healthy Cyrus Jones to lock down one side of the field will improve our defense immensely. Not to mention if Hump/Brown get up to speed we would have ridiculous talent at corner.

I'm going with two losses as well.

Absolutely not.

We were the only SEC team to make the CFB playoff.

Our softball team made it to the WCWS.

Both of our golf teams were legit.

We won some track and tennis titles.

We can't be the best at everything every year.

Now I feel much better.

A historic season for most programs. A disappointing season for most Bama fans.

Until proven otherwise I say we go undefeated.

I'm not saying that we're just going to dominate every team we play. I expect some close games. I won't be surprised if we did lose some games, but I can't just look at the schedule and pencil in L's before the season even starts.

Most people thought we'd be meh last year, and we still won the SEC and were a few seconds short of playing for the national championship.

I'll have high hopes again this season, just like I had last season, and every season. I'll take it one game at a time. The rest of you should as well, seeing as we have no real impact on the game anyway.

I say 11-1. Just like the last four years. With the loss coming to Miss St.

I feel this could be a surprisingly good year.

I think this defense could be somewhere between the 2009 and 2011 defense. I look for the line to make a lot of disruption for the QB, helping the secondary, and outstanding LB play. I also think we get back to the ground game a bit more this yr, which will help with TOP and wearing down the opponents. Last yr was nice with the offensive records, but it wasn't Alabama football. Defense and pound the ball. I think Saban realizes that and we'll get back to that a little bit more this year.

I could see 2 losses. But I could easily see another playoff appearance and a title game as well.

Yep, placed perfectly in our brutal schedule with revenge on their minds. I agree this game could be trouble.

I think it'll be an interesting year.I hope the Team finds it's identity early in the Season.

Last Season the name of the game was get the ball to Cooper anyway they could.

This Season, who knows at this point.

In 41 days we'll see.

I really hope not, but then again as a fan I haven't been that optimistic coming into any season since 2010.
