A qb who started for almost half those eight years. Wtf is your point exactly? There would be growing pains replacing a long-tenured starter regardless of who the replacement was.
But my my it seems the kneejerk meltdown is in full effect. Just weeks ago we were debating Sims spot among the best in the conference and kiffin's spot as bama's best oc ever. Do you realize how stupid that sounds now? About as stupid as all this howling will sound if/when the offense turns it around so y'all can start the next round of kneejerk gushing. The '09 offense had some ugly stretches too, but no one bitches about it now.

Take away the Flordia game and Sims numbers don't look that great. One game has made his number look outstanding. He also could easily have double if not tripple the INT's if the other defense could catch the balls throwing right to them. In Ark game he threw 2 that should of been easy picks alone.

My point is, we were damn lucky that AJ never got hurt. Do we win it all in 2011 with P Sims? Do we beat UGA in ATL in 2012 with Blake? Really, Alabama has been incredibly lucky with starting QB's, since 2005 our QB's haven't missed a snap. I'm saying with how Saban can recruit, we just haven't had a quality young guy backing up our starter. Except for AJ in 2009-10. Character issues aside, missing out on Jameis Winston's talent was huge. Especially with him being in our back yard. I hope to the football God's one of our young QB's will develop and take over next fall. If it's Coker, then that itself will make 2015 questionable and 2016 too..

Yeah, A&M has a horrible defense so he could maybe help himself out there, but right now it looks like the Sims we saw vs Florida was a charade.
