Im pretty darn sure Ragland is a lock to be a starting ILB for us in the future.

Who is saying they have to get him out there now? He plays in blowouts just like Collins does, and on ST too. I guess if Collins was just so good they'd be putting him on the field too, right?

That is nowhere close to my point.

You said previously having Devall or whatever other player at ILB would keep Ragland off the field like it was some travesty. If that were the case, he'd be playing good snaps right now.

Instead, he rides the pine. So there is absolutely nothing that leads me to believe putting someone else there is "just keeping Ragland off of the field". It's keeping him off, but he hasn't done anything to show he deserves to be on it yet.

Funny thing about the Future, it's not a specific year.

Ragland will be a starting ILb in the future, but when is that future? 2013? 2014? 2015?

Ragland has played this year... not as much as devall... but he's played. What exactly are you trying to accomplish here magillaguerilla?

Wow really he can defend the run just as good as he defends the pass? LOL ok.

If he isn't any good at defending the run, then explain why he has 100 fricking tackles on the season, over 60 of which are solo. He may not be a 260 pound thumper like Hightower was, but he makes all kinds of open field plays on RBs that turn potential 10 yard gains into 2 yard gains. That is the name of the game these days. If you think NFL teams play 3 yards and a cloud of dust football these days you have your head up your arse.

That Ragland has not accomplish anything to be touted as the favorite for the vacated ILB in '13. Will he be in contention? Sure, but there are players who have been at the Capstone for a while and freshman already playing. Ragland came out of HS with a high rating, but that alone is not guaranteeing him the spot.

Thought that was pretty obvious...

If Moseley leaves I think he will take his place and Hayes will take his place on 3rd downs. Maybe we will see Sunseri in the middle on 3rd downs next year IDK. WHo knows.

Mosley won't have to be the 260 pound guy that Hightower is to defend the run in the NFL. He won't be playing Mike in a 43, he's best projected as an OLB in a 43, or inside, probably Will, in a 34.

I think C.J. Mosley leaves. What else does he have to prove if he gets a first round grade? With that said, I feel the ILBs for 2013 will be Trey DePriest and Reggie Ragland. I'm still not sure which LB spot Denzel Devall will eventually land at.

Damn nega-Tider. Stop dampening groundless over-valuations of guys who have yet to see a meaningful snap.

Either way, I think ragland, devall and ryan anderson will all see playing time next year--to what extent, at this point, its hard to tell.

In attempt to expunge my previous misdeeds, I heard from my source that when he called CJ Mosley's people and asked if he was gonna be available for an Autograph show in Febuary. They said no, he's coming back to school. He's bringing Julio Jones back too...

That's pretty much my view, it's wide open for positions and playing time this point(we're talking about something several months away after all). Devall is on the field already, but that doesn't guarantee him any spot either.

Example being Barron played more in '08, but Robbie Green won the Safety spot opposite Woodall in '09 out of the Spring. Come fall, Barron took it away from Green.

Who could have called that

Next year will be Tana's last shot. Would love for him to become a starter late like Jarrel Harris but it's probably more likely he'll be on the sidelines like Chris Jordan.

So we can expect CJ to go pro?

I remember how Jordan was talked up by players and coaches as "the guy" if anyone went down at MIKE Turns out the only MIKE who kept going down was Jordan. Jordan and Brian Motley(my favorite player while he was there) couldn't catch a break(pun wise they caught plenty). Motley was in line to start at 2 separate positions on different sides of the ball, but he gets hit with a helmet and shatters his hand.

Tana got some hype as the "light turning on" in the offseason and did briefly practice with the ones at SAM. hopefully, he can make a run at a position in his last year(though if Mosley comes back he'll be out of shots).

I remember the guy on the original BOL that gave play by play of his entire recruitment, I think he was related to him? Some didn't think he'd come to Bama with Johnson on board...

Great thread guys, Im fixing to get real deep in the Crimson and say CJ is very good agianst the run, did you not see him Sat? He comes out when a full back comes in.
Im not so sure that even happens any more, I wish he would have got a bunch more plays agianst LSU.
He is our best cover guy besides Dee,
Prob our best pass rusher,
Best blitzer
Has a ton of exp.

What does he have to prove by coming back? How about starting for one thing
I hope he comes back and I think he will. If so he stays on the feild every down next year.

Oh yea he has been making great tackles on special teams as well.

Has been my fav player since 2010, so watch what you say about him or I will e-shank you.

All signs point to middle to start out for him, although I assume just like every LB he will get a shot at all the spots. Walker could also start at jack before he swoles up and moves inside.

By the way I have seen the future, I know all this for a fact, Im just not gonna give you guys the starting 4 yet.
