We've zone blocked our way to a couple of NCs in the past few years. Maybe you didn't notice.

With players that learned the basics of blocking from Pendry. Ever since 2012 and the kids that he taught left our o line has sucked arse.

also, with man blocking, you line up, you know where you are going, and you can do it at full force. WIth zone blocking, you line up, you snap the ball, and you have to have lightning fast reflexes to see what is happening, where defensive players are moving, and then move your body to react....

anyone who cant see the problem with that needs a lesson in physics, motion, and inertia.

Yeah his protection left a lot to be desired but I do hope he eats the ball against aTm rather than pass it with reduced velocity while getting hit simultaneously. Every time he has put the ball in the air(it seems), while getting hit, has either been an INT or close to one. That's one thing about GMac and AJ, they seldom passed in that situation. I will say that I absolutely love the grit Coker shows however, very impressed by that aspect of his game.

People really seem to forget the growing pains McElroy, AJ, and Sims all went through in their first seasons.

I haven't forgotten...but Coker still isn't as good as either one, nor Wilson.

Coker doesn't have the benefit of having an offensive line like GMac and AJ did, nor does he possess the mobility of Blake Sims. We saw in the UGA game what happens when Coker is given plenty of time to throw it. Unfortunately, Coker isn't great when his uniform gets dirty, and our oline isn't good enough to keep his uniform clean.

Now either we need to recruit nothing but dual threat QBs or we need to find an OL coach who can coach as well as he can recruit.
