We shouldn't put kickers out of high school on scholarship. At this point none of them have worked out. I don't know if its Bobby Williams just sucks and stays around because he is Saban's f ck buddy or what exactly,

Our special teams have been amazing this year outside of yesterday's game.

I don't know about that. We're pretty much loaded at every position, and scholarship kickers work out at other schools. Parkey (sp?) was in the same class as Foster and is on scholarship at Auburn. He's been solid. Some just don't turn out as well as others.

The best thing to do would be to take 3 walk-on's every year and when a guy emerges then give him a scholarship. But none of the guys Saban has given a scholarship to at kicker have been worth it so the eval is lacking somewhere.

If only we had a D1 soccer team, there would be people lining up for days that could knock down 40 yarders in their sleep.

It's funny, that for some of you, it's 'just a game' all of a sudden.

Please stop treating this as Tidefans.

There isn't a fanbase in the world that wouldn't be critical of Cade Foster after last night's pathetic performance.

I simply said be civil. Saying it's ok he's getting death threats, back and forth posts of, frick you, no frick you hillbilly, adds nothing to the board and is not something anyone cares to see.

Disagree, just don't be vulgar like the above.

Maybe we just have different outlooks on life. I, for one, am not going to let a 21 year old kid's mistakes make me angry. When we win, I am happy for the team, and the school. When we lose, I am still proud of our team because I know they fought hard.

I take great pride in the program. But I also realize that these kids bust their asses all year long to be great, while us fans sit on our asses and talk about it. I don't feel like its my place to be angry at a player if he messes up.

Being a fan, to me, is about supporting our players through thick and thin. I would feel ashamed of myself if I were to feel actual anger towards a player for making mistakes.

Like I said, different outlook on life. You are entitled to your opinion, but we probably wouldnt get along too well IRL.

Agree 100%. Does no good to berate players for making mistakes.

While I might be somewhat critical of Foster...just as I would be of any other player whose play so critically affects a loss...as far as I am concerned this loss is still all on Saban. With arguably the greatest quarterback and the greatest collection of WRs in school history, on 2nd and 3, 3rd and 1, and 4th and 1 he insists on giving the ball to arguably the worst power runner we've had in the last seven years. And you have confidence in a kid to hit a 57 yard game winner, but you don't have confidence in him to basically kick an extra point that also would have been a game winner? Unfrickingbelievable.

And how many times during the year did Saban let Griffith actually attempt a 57 yard FG during the year? How in the hell do you run him out there to make that kick when in every similar situation all year we either punted or went for the first down?

I agree with all but this:

This has easily been our worst performing Oline besides 2010, and we didnt have any 1000 yard rushers in 2010.

Yall are forgetting this. It hasnt been as easy as it was for the other guys.

I agree with you 1000% about this.

And I also believe that as someone whose donations at least help pay a tiny fraction of Nick Saban's salary, it certainly is our place to sound off about his poor performance. We should never belittle the kids. But there is nothing at all wrong with having an expectation that the coaching staff...starting with Saban...will take whatever action necessary to fix problems as they arise...starting with an approach to 40+ yard FG kicking that has been dismal in the last few years. If that means firing (or reassigning) Bobby Williams, so be it. I'm not going complain about coordinators. The buck stops with the head man. If "we have an opponent in this state that we work 365 days a year to dominate", then getting outcoached by Gus Malzahn is never acceptable.

I doubt that you really think that Yeldon is a better power runner than Coffee, Ingram, Richardson, or Lacy. But I agree with you there about the OL also...all the more reason why it was stupid to run Yeldon exclusively in that series.

I didn't crucify Foster after 2011 LSU and I am not about to crucify Foster over 2013 Auburn. Both losses were a team effort.

Whatever makes you feel better. Sure, I groaned when he missed those kicks, but I hate it for him more than anybody. I have nothing invested in this team except my time and the energy I spend going to watch the games. I have no anger toward anyone over a game.
