Seems to be a veiled shot at Sims.

Sorry Mrs. Sims, but it wasn't a shot at Blake. It was merely an observation.

was just in a convo about this very topic with my brother. we finally concluded, at least for us, the major issue is the o line. it just aint what it use to be, by a wide margin. yes we know the o line dont drop passes nor call plays. but to many plays get blown up to quick to be successful. thats on the o line the vast majority of the time.

And I think that is why we try to throw our way out slumps instead of running the ball more.

That said, I think that is where we have to utilize Blake's legs more. Roll him out and give him the option to tuck & run. To my uneducated eye, it seems like we've told him not to run unless it is absolutely necessary.

If we've told him not to run, then that's a terrible coaching decision. His legs are his biggest asset.

I think the coaches are saving it up for when they feel it is needed most.

What bothers me is a few times in recent games he will roll out and have a lot of room to run but instead he throws it all the way down field. He is probably doing what the coaches tell him by keeping his eyes up field and looking for the open receiver. The problem is, (and this is true for most all QBs, not just Sims) when he is running down the field his accuracy goes way down. It becomes a low percentage throw when he does that. But if he runs, it's a high percentage that he will at least get a first down. I think that is something they will continue to work with him on. Also, most times the TV cameras dont give us a really good look at the whole field, so, maybe I am being too critical of his decisions without seeing the game film.

I agree with you guys that Sims should run more, but if he takes a bad hit and goes down, then we are fricked. Do you guys really want to see Coker this late in the season?

(I think some of you do)

I don't want to see Coker but we only have 3-5 games left with Sims and we are in a playoff situation from here on out, so we need to be taking advantage of everything Sims can give us. I'm not saying we should be running Sims like he's Nick Marshall, but I think he's capable of getting a few more runs per game.

I'd love to see us dial up an option play or two.

He doesn't have to take a hit. He can slide. A 4 yard run is better than a throw into the dirt.

I agree with you. And the more he runs successfully, the more that defenses will have to respect that, which will open other things up.

You call me "Mrs." yet you're the one who post like a emotionally (irrational).

Keep them coming, I can't wait for your next assessment which blows up in smoke the minute our next game concludes.
