What made it worse was it was Sheps fault. He hit that pile late and he went in low. Hit several UT guys in the back of knees which knocked them into Rob. Almost was a dirty play from him.

I saw it the exact same way.

Not sure if mentioned, but Landon is okay, just had cramps.

I was screaming at the TV for the refs to blow the whistle there. They let that pile go on for way too long.

We can get past LSU, but we NEED C-Rob for the Mississippi State game. If we don't have him, I don't see us winning. If we do, I like our chances.

Physical Therapy and quick heal remedies are much farther advanced now days. Having this off week for CRob is huge. You never know how severe a high ankle sprain is until the soreness has worn off and you try and walk on it for the first time, post soreness.

I think it's something along those lines.

Even though he was on crutches later his body language didn't seem like he had hurt a knee or anything serious.

Someone posted this on BOL TIFWIW

quote:

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Big Cam had surgery today at St. Vincents for a torn ligament in his lower leg. He is out for sure for at least 2-3 weeks. Somebody is going to have to step up.

2-3 weeks sounds optimistic if that is the case.

Personally I think we'll miss him more at LSU than we will against MSU. Huge loss though.

I don't think LSUs anemic offense can score much on us, so I think we need him more vs MSU.

LSU's defense, on the road at night in Baton Rouge, is a bigger test for our offense than Mississippi St.

They let several go on in that game alone, but I have seen it all year. BLOW THE DAMN WHISTLE! Nothing ever comes out of those scrums but injuries.

I still think we match up well against LSU. They are primarily a running team which should bode well for us. Furthermore, I don't think they will be able to stop our run game because of their young and thin defensive line.

Ole Miss didn't commit to the run at any point and against LSU it bit them in the arse. Don't be fooled thinking LSU's defense all of a sudden woke up...they're still horrible against the run and especially QB's who pose a threat to run (2 worst losses were to Dak and Marshall) and Josh Robinson had a huge game running the ball against them. Their DL is soft especially on the interior. That being said I want to see Grant Hill try out LT, at least Mario has 2 weeks to acclimate him & on passing plays just roll Sims out so that Hill can step into the block and feel more like a pulling run block to help him out. He has been impressive both times he has come in for extended time this year IMO.

Has this been confirmed? In an al.com report ( LINK):

Alabama starting left tackle Cam Robinson has a high ankle sprain and will be sidelined for a "couple of weeks," coach Nick Saban said Monday.

Saban, speaking after he was inducted into the Alabama Academy of Honor, did not provide any other specifics about Robinson's injury, which was suffered during the third quarter of Alabama's win Saturday at Tennessee.

The story will be updated.

Apparently, Saban said this within the past couple of hours...and he didn't mention anything 'bout surgery...
