I have to say it.

I can't agree with the notion that Alabama's success since 2007 is unrepeatable. Nor do I believe it's solely due to Coach Saban. Alabama's football legacy plays a significant role in our history.

As a Bama Football Historian, lets look at post Bear Bryant, Consider the 1983 coaching search. We shunned Snellenberger in his prime and settled for Ray Perkins. In 1983, 1987, 1990, 1999, 2001, and 2004, poor decisions, influenced by academic jealousy, misguided loyalty to Bear Bryant's legacy, or inept administrative decisions, set us back.

In 1987, influenced by President Joab Thomas and former player who will remain nameless, we humiliated Bobby Bowden, who thought he was there to sign a contract, with a brain dead committee of morons, who grilled him with stipid questions, and lost potential multi-national championships, and ended up with flim flamer Bill Curry.

From 1983 to 2007, Alabama's potential was hampered by these missteps, gross arrogance, and sanctions. The exception was in 1992, though even then, our offense was pathetic due to coaching incompetece. Bill Oliver won that title.

Looking at this hire, I was concerned. But, thankfully, Byrne made a wise choice.

Saban was exceptional, but age and some questionable decisions in staffing cost us. His later teams lacked the organization and toughness of his earlier ones.

Kirby Smart may replicate Saban's model, but lacks originality, relying heavily on aggressive recruiting. I believe DeBoer will outthink Kirby, who basically apes Saban and cons 17 year olds and gullible assistants.

"Yes TRob, there is such a thing as a double secret co- Defensive Coordinator".

I have little respect for Kirby's methods, including his recruitment tactics and staff poaching. I can see him now, going through TRobs cell phone and trying to Blow up our roster.

But now, we're poised for a turnaround. We'll have discipline and a strategic edge every game. We're Alabama, a team with a legacy of championships.

We don't aspire for mediocrity. We aim for titles. That's the Alabama way.

We're entrusting a tactical genius with a top-tier team. The notion of us achieving only an 8-4 record is ludicrous.

We're ready to dominate again. DeBoer is here to add to our storied legacy, not just get a bigger office. At Alabama, we don't just compete; we aim to win championships.

Otherwise, we should just bulldoze all those fancy facilities and and let go of that army of analysts.

We don't need all that crap to go 8-4. And if we go 8-4 in 2024, our out of state enrollment goes down the toilet along with all that revenue.

Failure isn't a option.

The main reason that they did that was that Joab Thomas wanted Alabama to be successful in football but also do things the right way. The example he used of a program to look up to in that regard? Penn State.

Did not age well.
