Why is that a "big if?" Man, a lot of you are wayyyyy higher on UGA than I am.

What's funny is that I bet the posters on here who think its a long shot for us to beat UGA are the same people that thought that there was no way in hell we could possibly win the division this year.

Never would have needed help in 2017 if Saban had played Tua vs the boogs.

FSU or Washington going down would be the best case scenario. I’d love to get a re-match vs. Texas

Only scenario that could keep us out is if BIG 10 undefeated, Wash undefeated, FSU undefeated and Texas 1 loss BUT if Texas keeps slopping around a Bama win over no. 1 Georgia will put us in over Texas. Bet.

If Oregon wins out we’re in over them. If Wash loses to Oregon St then wins the PAC12 with 1 loss we’re in over them.

We need to beat Georgia first. That’s a tougher ask then worrying about the playoff committee. If we go 12-1 and win the SEC title then we’re good.

Heather Dinich is a moron mostly but she knows the playoff committee and she’s no Bama fan. She tweeted out that if Bama wins out they are in guaranteed.

The good news when it comes to Georgia everyone is crowning them this morning. Let ppl keep telling this Bama team they have no chance.

UGA is by far the best OL Alabama will play this year. Their QB is just OK for sure...but Bowers is a HUGE problem on O. He makes any QB look way better (think the effect Mike Evans had at aTm for Johnny Manziel). Bama's front 4 has taken over games and the O gets the opponent in a hole to make up allowing the D to feast. UGA can shorten the game with a pretty competent run game. They are the defending NC on a 20 whatever winning streak. It is just a very tough game for Bama. I am very proud of this Bama team and what they have accomplished up to this point and I will root for them for sure on Dec 2nd but it will be a very tough task....that is all I meant.

One let's just beat Georgia if we get left out they do to and to play the villain as Booker said and deny their 3 peat will atleast be fun.
Two this team plays with an edge when disrespected if they feel like they still are going into that game it will help a lot.
Three we need to run it up on everyone left. Good job against UK and we probably need more milore TDs to get his name in the Heisman to help us get in.

Also I hope Mrs Terry got in Nick's ear about Auburn yesterday. Keeping him pissed will help. We can't get trapped there.

Bama will slow their run game down significantly. I think we also are going to be able to pressure Beck. He hasn’t looked near as efficient when teams get pressure. Bowers worries me. The question is do we have someone big enough and athletic enough to matchup with him. Maybe Jihad? If that happens, we Roll. I don’t think there’s a college football team in America that’s stopping Milroe now that he’s gotten things figured out. 34-24 Bama in this one

Win or lose, assuming we go undefeated until the SECCG, I will have enjoyed this year. It started off terrible after the TX and USF games, but we have improved every game since then. Going from “Shula like” to where we are now within a season has been fun, especially beating AM, LSU, and TN.
Our coordinators have proved to be light years better than our last 2, which gives me hope going forward. Still confused that we don’t have a more efficient PR than Kool Aid.

I don't even care right now. It will certainly suck if it happens, but if this bunch wins at Auburn and then beats Georgia in Atlanta then they've done every single thing they could do and had an unreal season. I'd be pissed they didn't get a shot but I'd be tickled to death with the rebound of the program and extremely excited about the next few years.

Agreed. Watching this team improve has been really enjoyable.

I just want to win in Opelika and Atlanta.

If that’s not enough to get us in then so be it. Let the fruitcakes on the west coast have their shot.

Bring on the 12-team format. Would be electric this year.

Wish we could’ve played Texas a few weeks later. We would be them by two scores now.

I did some hardcore talks with the family at lunch today. Here’s what we came up with:

This assume If Bama beats #1 UGA and Oregon Beats Washington

1. Big Ten Champ
2.FSU
3. Texas
4.Bama

Reasoning Bama would have the best win against #1 UGA and best Loss #3 Texas

Oregon best win against #5 Washington and Loss against the same #5 Washington

Thoughts?

I think this is our path is no one else loses. Hopefully Texas, Washington and FSU lose.

With the SEC having won the last 4 national championships in a row and the bulk of them in the past 15 years, and given the talent gap confirmed each year by the NFL draft, leaving out a 1 lose SEC CHAMP would be a sure way to lose all credibility and put a damper on the playoffs.

I think the committee will see that.
