I think it's jsut time to accept Jalen for who he is, a fantastic athlete that could become a competent passer. He's never going to wow you with his arm, but he will with his legs. He's still a great weapon.

Agreed. Kind of like we said all offseason.......if Jalen can consistently make reads and throws on slants and stops and crossing routes plus be good enough throwing the ball down the field.........he's a terror.

Will that play in the NFL? No, but it will sure as heck play in college.

I agree with part of that, and I think he's very close to being a terror already. I don't know that I am ready to accept that Hurts "is what he is" 16 starts into a career that could be close to 60 games long. There's lots of room and time for improvement.

Oh yea, 100% agree. I'm not saying he won't get better, but I do think his "ceiling" as a passer is probably right at the competent level. He won't be Andrew Luck or even AJ, but that's ok.

Honestly, I think the biggest question is reads. I think his actually passing accuracy has been really good this year.

I agree with that, and to be honest, that gives me encouragement. His accuracy has improved from what I can tell. I think being able to read defenses and make progressions could be a tougher fix. Hopefully Daboll can get him there.

If the corners are playing so far off the receivers, then you get the receivers to run shorter routes and hit the wide open receivers.

At that point you are just playing pitch and catch with the receivers. Might just get 5 yards out of it, but you are still letting Hurts pass from the pocket.

That's why I said this and that's what he was mostly doing outside of taking the free grass they were giving him.
