I know Jacobs had a great game, but it was far from spectacular. Without Jalen, we lose the game.

The media usually goes down to the field mid-4th quarter. Most of them vote before they go down. I guess at the time, Jacobs was the Bama MVP.

It sucks that his name won't be etched in stone for what he did last night. Obviously we all know what happened. But in 50 years, when the youngest of us are talking about this game to our grandchildren, they are going to be asking why we saw Jalen as the hero of the night when Jacobs was named the game's MVP.

Just pop in the movie they make about Jalen and they will understand.

This thread is garbage.

I couldn't be happier for Josh Jacobs. He's been our best weapon at RB for most of the year, and is a devastating blocker when not featured. He himself has an amazing story, perhaps one worthy of film.

And while I readily agree with the "specialness" of what happened with Jalen, I am happy they rewarded a guy, Jacobs, who exemplifies everything right about Bama football and did his job, play in and play out, without a camera on him.

Josh Jacobs deserves every good thing that can come his way, and was easily the Bama offensive MVP through 3.5 quarters.

No one is shitting on Josh Jacobs, dude. I think just about all of us have acknowledged that he's our most prolific RB this year. Jacobs was really solid last night, flu and all, I think most of us are simply saying Jalen's performance was more impressive considering how he came on cold off the bench.

Same rules apply:

Remove Jalen Hurts from the 2018 SEC Championship Game and GA goes home with the trophy.

The only thing I can think of is the vote was in about ten minutes before the end of the game.

ETA: others already answered.

From BOL game balls article: "MVP votes had to be turned in before the 5-minute mark of the 4th quarter or else the honor would've gone to Hurts."

Yeah, dude. That's why I quoted Goldtide1's statement:

Without Jalen, we lose the game.

Immediately before restating them as:

Remove Josh Jacobs from the 2018 SEC Championship game and GA goes home with the trophy.

Reading's too hard for some of you.

Then they must have to turn in two, because no way Jacobs wins if Georgia wins the game.

Pretty sure they vote for one player for each team. I think Fromm would have won if UGA held on.

Jacobs was important no doubt, but aside from that long run all Jacobs did was score two touchdowns from inside the one yard line. Jalen's play was much more clutch and, had the media actually voted at the end of the game instead of at the five minute mark, he would have been the MVP.

Jacobs played well. Jalen played better.

Fromm was money.. haven’t seen a QB like that since the first 5 weeks of the season with Tua. He was dropping dimes.. wasn’t missing reads either.
