Final thoughts on Bama/LSU 2023...

Penalties (per ESPN)
LSU 8-60 Bama 6-50
The Dallas Turner play was NOT only NOT "targeting".
it shouldn't have even been called Roughing the Passer.
Less than one step/ head up/ face mask in the chest
In other words, the textbook tackle that "targeting was supposed to teach"
On the subject of "targeting" NOT being called and ignored by Gary and crew- the two different helmet to helmet hits on Jalen Milroe by LSU LB/DBs that ended with the LSU player being laid out.

Eh, he both got a piece of the facemask (after hitting his chest) and drove him into the ground. It's a legitimate roughing call in 2023.

This is the best view ive seen of the hit on Daniels. You can tap the clip and it stops the video. You can clearly see the helmet/face mask goes in his chest and he even rolls to the side of Daniel's body on the follow through. Should not have been a penalty at all! The Hit

The crown of the helmet rule is in place to protect the defender from breaking their neck. An LSU corner tried to tackle Milroe with his crown and got ran tf over. By the definition it was targeting and it’s the type of play that can confine people to a wheelchair. Kid completely exposed the top of his helmet and tried to make the tackle that way and got punished. He’s lucky he didn’t get hurt
Dallas kept his head up the whole time. I’m okay with the roughing call because there is an emphasis on body weight, as impossible as that can be at time to control, he did land on Daniels with all of his weight

You're wrong...he didn't do that either. Hit my link above and watch again...you will see he actually lands to the side of the qb....it is a wonder he didn't break his arm
