Just dont see us jumping OSU as long as they are undefeated. I doubt we jump Clemson either but that Syracuse game was pretty uninspiring.

We are currently ahead of them in the CFP rankings. Remember they also seeded Alabama and Oregon ahead of undefeated FSU last year too.

Am I the only one who doesn't want to be #1 until after the playoffs are over?

I'd love for OSU or Clemson to stay #1.

The ranking doesn't matter, the match-up is what is key. It doesn't matter if you're 2 or 3; you get the same opponent. So I care more about where the others are lined up, hoping we can get the best (easiest) first round match-up.

I don't want to be #1. But whatever gives us a rematch with Ohio State is fine.

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Ohio State
4. Notre Dame

If all of the current top four win out.
I think the committee goes for the entertainment value with double rematches in the final 4.

Bama vs Osu
Clemson Vs ND

Either way the Bama or Osu winner gets a fresh new match up with a ACC opponent ND or Clemson.
In the national title game..
If it's Bama vs ND they get to sell another rematch game.!

I think regardless of other teams, if Bama and Osu are in the final 4. They will play each other.
There has to be a fresh new face in the title game..

Doesn't matter to me as long as we're in the top 4 on Dec 6th.

Nope, I don't want #1 till afterwards either...I'd be content at being in the 3 slot till then...

Yes. The thought of spending 3-4 days in Dallas around New Years, versus 3-4 days in Miami should be the primary reason.

I'm not sure what the criteria are for determining which team goes where. There is a clause in the rules that protects the old bowl tie-ins...that's why we went to the Sugar Bowl last year. But with no SEC bowl tie in this year to the semifinal locations, we could be in Dallas if we are #1 and Clemson #2. If anyone has a link to where it is all spelled out, please post.

edit: the Wikipedia page says that it is based on geography...#1 seed goes to the closest site, then the #2 seed. Old bowl tie-ins are only for non-playoff games. That would put us in Dallas if we are #1, and also if Clemson is #1 and we are #2.

It goes by location.

The #1 seed plays in the stadium closest to them, the #2 seed plays in the other one.

IF Clemson, Notre Dame, Alabama and Ohio State win out,

I think they put

1. OSU
2. Clemon
3. Alabama
4. Notre Dame

Assuming a loss by Ok. State at some point.

That way they avoid a rematch with Clemson vs. ND. Trust me, if OSU beats Mich. St. and Michigan and Iowa all in a row, the media is going to start dogpiling the OSU love. They'll also probably start dogpiling the Elliott for Heisman love, so get ready for that.
