I wanted to get payback like crazy vs him- especially for the 4th down fake in '03. That being said, still respect the program and the success Stoops had there. Wish him well.

Big XII just took another step toward extinction. Their flagship nationally recognized program just lost their coach and gave the reins to a guy who has ZERO head coaching experience at any level. This was a risky move. If Riley works, all is well and OU looks like geniuses. But if not, this could get ugly and you could lose your one recognizable brand. If that happens, you're CUSA or the MAC on steroids and things could unravel quickly. Doubly so if Hermann whiffs at Texas.

I'm I the only one who thinks there's something strange about this? Stoops isn't that old, he's got a top 10 team this year, hasn't won a natty since 2000 so has more to prove. Just seems like something strange--like Urban leaving Florida. Does he just want out of OU for a year so he can re-appear someplace else? Is he already talking to ND or TAMU? Does he have terminal cancer? Is he in hot water with the NCAA?
