Obviously the BCS National Championship Game did but that was before we played a semi-final game in a pre-established bowl.

I see it used interchangeably, but the CFPNCG isn’t officially a bowl game. For simplicity, I think everyone counts them all the same because it’s awkward as Hell to say Alabama is 7-3 in bowl games and 6-2 in BCS/CFP NCGs.

CFB Reference counts them as bowl games, and includes them in our bowl appearances record. I think they try to follow NCAA rules. The only thing I could find on NCAA.com was the NCG being included under the "bowl game" tab.

No, the bowl games are used in the semifinals, the College Football Playoff National Championship Game isn't a bowl game.

They do include the win or loss in a conferences postseason record.

Saban has a 11-3 bowl record at Alabama.

2007- Independence Bowl
2009- BCS National Championship Game
2010- Capital One Bowl
2011- BCS National Championship Game
2012- BCS National Championship Game
2015- Cotton Bowl
2016- Peach Bowl
2017- Sugar Bowl
2018- Orange Bowl
2019- Citrus Bowl
2020- Rose Bowl

Losses
2008- Sugar Bowl
2013- Sugar Bowl

FWIW, the University claims them as bowl wins in the media guide, so I say print the shirts!

And that makes sense. Saying we’ve only won 6 bowl games in the last dozen years is misleading as Hell Everyone knows better.
