Coach Saban was known as someone who spent a lot of his time devoted to the program. He also expected it from his assistant coaches, literally everyone in the program. Which I think caused some coaching turnover from assistants that didn't want to devote their entire lives to the program.

Is Deboer along the same lines or will he be "easier" to work for? Will we see more of the Bowden/Andrew's or Dabo/Venerables type of long term loyalty?

His Washington staff had been with him for four years. So we should see less turnover in time.

All depends, if DeBoer has a lot of success assistant coaches will leave. The money will be too great to turn down.

That being said expecting a Saban type of success is unrealistic. So I would expect less turnover

As he said in the earlier interview, his co-DC has been with him for every win he's had at the college level.

He has a solid reputation for strong staff loyalty.

Staff loyalty is something that we could use these these next few years.

Saban had so much success, for so long, that people thought he had the Midas touch. Assistants who were with him for any length of time were hired away by programs hoping they had acquired some secrets by coaching for him. It will take awhile for DeBoer to achieve that status, if he can. At least in the beginning, people will discount some of his success as being due to being at Alabama where Saban had built the program.

I posted this in another thread but Grubbs and a few other coaches have been with DeBoer since their Sioux Falls days.

Obviously, at Alabama you have a larger spotlight and more visibility which will inevitably mean more jobs, etc. I definitely think there is a sense of brotherhood but I could also see Grubbs and some other folks leave for non-lateral roles (i.e. OC to HC, WR to OC, etc.)
