One of my favorite players ever. A shining example of doing everything the coaches asked and excelling.

The guy was almost shunned for his performance against A&M his first year as a cb(even though he had huge INT in the endzone) and then developed into our #1 cb and an excellent return man in his last two years.

Cyrus is a great example of a "Nick Saban" player.Coach Saban turned him into a very good Corner.Didn't make mistakes.Always had his side locked down.

He got better every year at Corner and Punt Returner.

I think Bill Bellichek(sp) likes the fact that Cyrus is the result of 4 years of Coach Saban's "Process".

A great guy.A great Teammate.

Me too.

Our guys who are undersized. Who aren't quite as gifted athletes as the 4 and 5 star recruits. The ones who patiently work and prepare for years before seeing playing time. Can't help but love em.

Cyrus
Blake Sims
Kelly Johnson
Arenas
Rashad Johnson
Nick Gentry

Just to name a few who played recently

Good call on Gentry. He was a madman in the title game against LSU in the Dome. They couldn't block him.

Gentry is a legend.

Cyrus got better and better each season. Unbelievable player with unbelievable heart. I will never forget his punt return TD against Michigan State.

Cyrus is explosive as hell and amazingly smooth. Think he was a 5 star.

Kareem Jackson was a similar story. Was a 3 star running back out of high school. Saban changed him to a new position and he ended up an AA his senior year and I believe a first round draft pick? Am I correct on that? Went like in the 20s or something.

Jackson came in as a cb, 4 star our of prep school. He started pretty much the whole season at cb as a true frosh.

You are thinking of Rashad Johnson. He was an unranked walk on that came in as a rb. Turned into an all American safety, and is and has been a solid defensive starter in the NFL.

Lol he isn't thinking of Rashad Johnson. He is thinking of Kareem Jackson. He was right about everything he said besides there being a position change in college. He was a Rob in high school cb in prep.

Kareem Jackson was a CB from day 1 at Bama.

And he was one of the top 20 recruits nationally

Okay, I guess I was just confused because Jackson was a highly rated cb out of prep school and left Alabama before his senior year, and Johnson was converted from a rb while he was at Bama and stayed until his senior year.
I apologize.
