That is a tough sumbtich. I freaking love watching him run over defensive players and bounce off hard hits.

That's gotta get his teammates' blood boiling.

I said all summer that Coker brought some skills as a runner and some posters on here told me I was full of shite.

He needs to be running a few times each game.

I was very hard on Coker to start the season but I have to admit. He's won me over with his grittiness. I only saw one bad throw, a pass behind Mullaney that was a bit behind him.

I told my wife that runs like that where he just refuses to go down are the kind of plays that can turn momentum and at the time on that run around the right side, we desperately needed a momentum change.

Now, if we can just get him to play like that at home.

I kept waiting on a naked bootleg that never happened.

The other players have to love Coker's heart and toughness. It's hard not to rally around the guy.

Yeah I think it's fair to say he's "won the team" like Saban was looking for

I like Jake. He is so inconsistent though. He looks great one week and awful the next. I just want middle of the road. If he can level his playing, we can win a title. I didn't think that was possible after OM.

The thing is, he really isn't that inconsistent.

Exactly, it's our Oline and playcalling that is the most inconsistent.

If we call one more pass play on first down that is designed behind the LOS, I'm going to lose it. Pass forward, run forward. Stop putting us in 2nd and 14 every play.

That was the first time that he really had that pissed off and amped up look in his eyes. I don't know if he necessarily develops that attitude without being benched.

All I know is that game is when he won the team (and fanbase) over with his heart. That TD drive late in the 2nd quarter was epic. We still lost but he became the QB on that drive. Dude brings heart, toughness, and just plain country boy grit to the field. Love it!!!

However, while I love seeing him run but he has got to start protecting himself. He takes way too many big hits, IMO. Its not really his fault though... OL needs to protect him better as well.

From the multiple hits he has taken, he doesn't seem like he fits the mold of the often injured QB who gets taken out with a big hit. He doesn't believe in sliding, and as long as he doesn't start fumbling, let him run.

Exactly, and he gives most of the hits when he is scrambling. Dude is like a fullback when he is in open field.

It's likely his last year playing the game. Let him go out on his shield.
