4-star WR Seth Williams, Paul W. Bryant (Ala.)

- Williams said his visit to Auburn — an overnight stay — was his first recruiting visit of the summer, but he has plans to make others before the season begins, though he declined to say specifically where he’d visit.
- Auburn will receive an official visit, likely for a game.
- Williams said his relationship with Kodi Burns is one of Auburn’s biggest selling points. Burns has told him how badly Auburn wants a tall, physical receiver, which is exactly what Williams brings.
- He said Auburn, Ole Miss and Alabama are the three schools recruiting him the hardest right now.
- What keeps bring him back to Auburn? “Probably just how the coaches, they’re real. They’re not going to hide anything from you. They’re family. Every time I come here, it feels like family. You just can’t get past that.”

Quanderrius Robinson has enjoyed quite the week. First, Auburn football offers him Friday after watching a private workout on campus. And on Saturday, Robinson, a future recruiting gem in the Class of 2020, was scheduled to work out for Alabama football.

Could this be another #WarEagle and #RollTide recruiting competition at Jackson-Olin?

"(Alabama) is already texting me, making sure he can (still) come workout with them," said Tim Vakakes, Robinson's high school coach at Jackson-Olin. "Word travels fast."

Robinson will play free safety this fall at Jackson-Olin, a Birmingham City School which enjoyed a resurgence last season (8-3), reaching the playoffs for the first time since the 1999 season. Robinson was a backup on the team, playing outside linebacker behind Montez Coleman and learning from fellow linebacker TD Moultry, now at Auburn.

Now it's time for Robinson to shine on Friday nights. Vakakes said Robinson was moved to defensive back because of necessity, but expects him to end his prep career at linebacker.

"He doesn't have a list of favorites," Vakakes said. "He doesn't have a favorite college team. He's just very new to all of this. This was his first visit to a college campus. Everything is real new, so he's very bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Smiling and just enjoying the process. But his process hasn't even started yet.

"He's got to make some football plays. He has no film. But it doesn't take (colleges) long to see potential. When you're 6-4 and 200 pounds and can move like him, that's definitely potential."

Jackson-Olin, seven seasons removed from a winless season, has enjoyed back-to-back high-profile recruits. Alabama and Auburn fought long and hard over Moultry, and defensive end Coynis Miller, who this fall will be a senior, can pick his SEC school of choice.

And now, Robinson could join the list.

"Everybody is absolutely in love with the kid because of the way he handles himself," Vakakes said. "I hope that he sees that gets you somewhere; shaking hands with a firm handshake, looking in their eyes. Being humble. Being the hardest worker.

"(At Jackson-Olin), we've had to slow him down in the weight room because he works so dag-on hard. So I'm hoping all that, and the work ethic he learn from T.D. will rub off on his him and his teammates."

This "family" thing that the barn is selling recruits is really getting old. I know we make a lot of jokes about it but it does seem to have a positive effect on recruits. One thing about it is that I don't remember a recruit ever saying "why" or "how" it felt like family.

When things are repeated to people often enough, they generally believe it unquestioningly. I don't mean that to sound either arrogant or talking down on people in general. But I have studied/researched a lot of things along those lines, and have come to learn that that is true. ESPECIALLY 17-18 year olds. Hitler and Goebbels would agree.

AUBURN | Seth Williams has been on two recruiting visits this summer — both to Auburn.

The four-star wide receiver from Paul Bryant High School in Cottondale, Ala., attended the Tigers’ cookout Saturday with his parents.

“The coaches, they are real and they’re not going to hide anything from you,” said Williams of what stood out most about Auburn. “It’s more like family. Every time I come down here it feels like it’s family. I just can’t get past that.”

Williams, 6-foot-2 and 202 pounds, said that family feeling will play a big part in his recruitment.

“It’s going to be real important because I don’t want to go anywhere that I’m not going to feel comfortable,” Williams said. “I just want to feel like I’m supposed to be there, like I’m at home.”

It might seem unlikely that a highly-recruited receiver in Alabama’s backyard could end up at Auburn, but Williams is very open to that possibility.

“It’s not hard. It’s whatever school that fits you,” he said. “If you’re Tuscaloosa born and you want to go to Tuscaloosa and you stay in Tuscaloosa, you stay in Tuscaloosa. But nothing in Tuscaloosa is going to make you stay in Tuscaloosa.”

Williams’ parents have also given Auburn a positive review.

“They love it too,” Williams said. “They love wherever I feel comfortable.”

Williams’ offer list includes Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, South Carolina, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. He doesn’t currently list any favorites or have a timetable for a decision.

Williams did name three schools that are recruiting him the hardest.

“Auburn, Ole Miss and Alabama,” he said.

Williams also attended Auburn’s Big Cat recruiting event in June.

2018 Four-Star DB Trey Dean of Dutchtown high school in Georgia informed 247Sports on Sunday morning he is going to delay his decision.

He was set to make his decision next Monday, July 31st.

At the end of the day, Dean says he was simply not ready.

“After many prayers with God and deep discussions with my family, I think it is in my best interest right now to step back from this decision, concentrate on my senior season at Dutchtown,” Dean said.”I will be taking more visits and making that decision on a college when I feel the time is right. Thank you to all that continue to support and pray for me in this process.”

Dean is rated as a Top247 prospect in the class of 2018 and is South Carolina currently leads the Crystal Ball votes with 40% of the votes.

Andres Fox, a 3-star defensive end/outside linebacker from Mobile (Ala.) Christian High School, grew up an Alabama fan, but for several months, it seemed like Auburn had the edge over the Crimson Tide mainly because of his comfortability at the school and the Tigers offering him before the Tide.

After a visit to both schools this weekend for their respective cookout events, Fox said Alabama and Auburn are now tied on top of his recruitment.

“Alabama is tied at the top because it is a great school and I’d have a great chance at the NFL,” Fox told SEC Country. “I’m still deciding if Alabama’s system is the best fit for me.”

Fox admitted that he had the feeling of making a commitment at both schools this weekend but chose not to in order to continue processing his thoughts on both schools.

What’s it going to take for one school to separate itself from the next?

“They have to just keep recruiting me really hard like they are doing,” Fox said.

The 6-foot-4, 232-pound prospect says LSU and Stanford, the other two teams in his top 4, remain in the mix but the two in-state schools hold the edge right now.

A commitment for the nation’s No. 18 weakside defensive end won’t come any time soon.

“I doubt it will happen before the season starts,” Fox said. “It will probably come sometime this fall. The two at the top have a really big chance, though.”

Alabama is recruiting Fox at JACK, which is the same position the Crimson Tide are targeting 5-star prospects KJ Henry and Micah Parsons and 4-star prospects Cameron Latu, Eyabi Anoma and current Tide commitment Jordan Davis.

Rodney Orr mentioned that it sounds like we made a big impression on Wood-Anderson (no surprise, of course, as everybody makes a big impression on him... I think he'll commit to us next week, though) and Waddle. Waddle would be huge, as he's thought of as probably the best WR in the country by our staff.
