Some guy from Scout.com CB'd Andres Fox to LSU.

I guess with 247 taking over Scout their mods can make CB picks now.

That should increase the number of CBs quite a bit.

Some dude came up with a high school football Top 100 using some formula.

Here's the schools from the state of Alabama and the Top 5:

Rank, Team, State

#1 St. John Bosco (California)
#2 Mater Dei (California)
#3 Allen (Texas)
#4 Bishop Gorman (Nevada)
#5 IMG Academy (Florida)
#8 Hoover (Alabama)
#72 Central (Phenix City, Alabama)
#91 Hewitt-Trussville (Alabama)

Sounds like Jarrett Bell has moved WAYYYY up the board as a commitable offer and a high priority after camp. Can play every position on the OL and DL.

Why is Joiner CB'd to Auburn good news?

He wants to play RB but he isn't good enough. He wants to just go into a program and have things given to him. He doesn't want to compete.

Alabama and Auburn have big recruiting events this weekend, as Alabama hosts a cookout and Auburn a picnic on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

These are invite-only events, as it's not part of the camp setting. Some prospects, like Austin's Asa Martin, plan to be at both. Moultrie, Ga., four-star linebacker JJ Peterson is also one who could be at both.

So let's take a stab at predicting the next three commits for each school. We'll limit it to the 2018 classes for this one.

ALABAMA

OL Penei Sewell, LB Cameron Latu, OL Tommy Brown

Going all the way across the country here. It would not surprise me at all if Sewell and Latu go public this weekend, and Alabama's offer to Brown, from California, seems to indicate they are ready to take his commitment. If he gets a visit in this August, a commitment could come then.

I like Georgia four-star JJ Peterson to choose Alabama, but maybe not before these guys.

Tommy Brown will be on campus in 2 days for the Cookout FWIW.

Going with a trio of Georgia prospects here, though I was tempted to put in five-star quarterback Justin Fields. It's possible Auburn gets him, though I see his recruitment going longer. All three have indicated that Auburn is the team to beat and all three should be at Auburn this weekend.

Justin Fields isn't committing for some time.

I'm surprised he didn't mention Coynis Miller for either team seeing as he is committing next week.

You and me both brother.

It would be a huge miss for this class if we didn't land him IMO.

Can Alabama flip Nadab Joseph

A story from al.com

quote:

The big talk in Alabama recruiting circles has been the thought of flipping elite defensive back Kelvin Joseph from LSU. Maybe the focus is on the wrong Joseph. Nadab Joseph, a four-star defensive back from Hialeah, Fla., made his second trip to Alabama this summer. He participated in camp and this came after earning an offer on a trip to Tuscaloosa earlier this summer. The 6-foot-1.5, 180-pound Joseph is ranked as the No. 228 prospect nationally and No. 18 safety, but says Alabama likes him as a cornerback. Joseph has been committed to LSU for more than a year. But he says he has an official visit locked in with Alabama for the weekend that the Crimson Tide hosts LSU the weekend of Nov. 4. "Right now, I'm still solid with LSU," Joseph said. "We just have to see what happens in the end. Whatever situation is best, me and my guardian will discuss it and go from there."

quote:

Joseph performed well at Alabama's camp and said he had a chance to work in the whole camp, including fourth quarter drills. "They are telling me that they would love to coach me," Joseph said. "I have a great chance of playing early and I would fit right in. We really looked over the depth chart this time." Alabama is looking to sign three cornerbacks in this class, but targeting recruits who can play multiple positions in the secondary. Joseph would fit that mold, along with current commit Jalyn Armour-Davis of Mobile. Joseph said he would "probably" take visits to LSU, Florida State and Florida this summer. Oklahoma and Georgia are also trying to flip him. But Alabama certainly stands out. "Everything you need to get to the next level is there and those guys walk around there like they are supposed to win and they don't expect anything else," Joseph said.
