#OleMiss commit Shea Patterson: “Shyheim (Carter) is committed to Alabama right now, but I think that’s going to change soon.”

One of the top prospects visiting Alabama this weekend came from across the country.
Alabama has had success in California, signing five-star quarterback Blake Barnett last year and just getting a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Jonah Williams.
Devin Asiasi, a four-star tight end/defensive end from powerhouse De La Salle High School, was one of the visitors for the weekend. Alabama held a practice on Friday and a scrimmage on Saturday.
Asiasi is a four-star recruit rated as the No. 91 recruit in the country. He has offers from Alabama and the likes of Michigan and USC.
Earlier this week, 2017 California standouts Keyshawn Johnson Jr. and Darnay Holmes visited Alabama.
Other visitors included Sachse, Texas four-star cornerback Jared Mayden, who has 40-plus offers, Sachse 2018 receiver Drue Jackson, Sachse 2018 quarterback Jalen Mayden, and Wylie, Texas receiver Jordan Whaley.
That group was heading to Mississippi State today.
New Orleans tight end Peyton Aucoin and Waco, Texas three-star cornerback Eric Cuffee made trip to Tuscaloosa, too., as well as Channelview, Texas four-star quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Madison Academy fullback Malik Miller attended Saturday's scrimmage. It looks like an Alabama-Auburn-Florida State battle.
Warner Robins, Ga., 2017 QB Jake Fromm was also there.
This visitor list could be updated today.
Earlier this week, Alabama offered LSU tight end commit Jamal Pettigrew from New Orleans.

Rivals250 wide receiver Trevon Diggs still says Alabama leads but visits to Georgia, LSU, Florida State, Florida, Miami, UCLA, Arizona and a few others could change that. He wants to commit during the summer after he has taken many more visits. Diggs is going to try to visit Alabama and Auburn on one of those trips, but he hasn't set a date for that yet. As for home-state Maryland, It doesn't look like Diggs will end up a Terrapin if quarterback Dwayne Haskins Jr. doesn't go there.

Alabama leads for Rivals250 linebacker Jaquan Yulee but Michigan, Michigan State, Clemson and North Carolina are also in the mix. Yulee will take more visits before committing but if his grandmother likes Alabama when they visit again he will likely commit. The Tar Heels could be the biggest threat to the Crimson Tide. Yulee has been a fan of North Carolina for a long time and he likes that they need linebackers.

Sophomore five-star defensive back Devon Hunter recently picked up an offer from Michigan State. Hunter visited Maryland on Saturday evening and is looking to visit Alabama again. He is in touch with Florida, Florida State, Virginia and Virginia Tech. Hunter said Alabama is making its way to the front of the pack.

Just three years ago Stefon Diggs was one of the nation's top talents and a five-star in the Rivals.com rankings. Now another Diggs is making a name for himself. On Saturday, Stefon's little brother, Trevon Diggs, showed some of the same speed and explosiveness that made his older brother so special as a high school prospect. Diggs, ranked No. 194 in the Rivals250, has added weight to his frame during the offseason but looked as explosive as ever while toasting defensive backs during one-on-ones. With several offers on the table, Diggs will have plenty of options; he talked Saturday about taking a different college path than Stefon, who stayed close to home and attended Maryland. Florida and Alabama are among the schools pushing for Diggs, who figures to only see interest increase as the spring moves along.

Shyheim Carter got a flip pick to OM from their mod. Their mod is a big homer, so TIFWIW. The pick stems from Shea Patterson saying he thinks that Carter will flip. I didn't realize that Carter and Shea were that close
