We caught up with Gardena (Calif.) Serra athlete Khalil Tate following The Opening Regional Camp in Oakland on Sunday. Tate worked out with the quarterbacks and had a solid camp.
Khalil Tate is one of the most versatile athletes out West with the ability to play multiple positions in college. He debated whether he should work out at receiver or quarterback but ended up working out with the signal callers and showed off a strong, downfield arm and was really spinning the ball.

Tate gave an early commitment to Arizona but said schools continue to recruit him. Notre Dame and Alabama are new schools in the mix along with USC. Utah and Oregon State are also involved.

I think most of our commits will receive bumps but I trust our staff in their evaluations. It appears we are going for mean frickers in this class over prima donnas.

I agree and support recruiting the blue collar that has something to prove in place of the white collar who thinks he is already at the top of his game.

Speaking of 3-stars, we offered another one from Florida yesterday. He is teammates with TE target Nick Eubanks (whose brother is a top target for Avery Johnson).

Yes please (on Brian Burns). Another guy who is mis-evaluated by the recruiting services. That aint no 3 star. Long, lean, fast, and athletic. Reminds me of Tim Williams.
