Lets just say this is my second Alabama football heyday. Nine National Championships during my life as a fan.

Sir, let me thank you for your service. You've seen a lot of ups and downs with Bama. I was still a youngun when I was ticked off that we didn't hire Bobby Bowden.

4 during mine, and that's already amazing to think about.

But 9?

I am too young to recall all that bear won in the 60's but from 1960 on that gives me at least nine right?

From 60 on...
61, 64, 65, 78, 79, 92, 09, 11, 12

I count 9. Not all of those are consensus. Not all are AP. Also, 66 team was undefeated and only gave up like 23 points all year IIRC. I have heard others say that Bear thought it was the best team he ever coached.

OSU backing off Tim Settle, something sketchy must have been going on.

Settle = Bama lock

So IMO we now have the 2 most underrated LBs in this class (Leo Lewis is the other if you've seen his highlights he should be a 5 star)

Christian Bell is rated way too low his Sophmore highlights are extremely impressive. He's long lean gets to the QB in a hurry, can read and dissect really well a perfect OLB for Bama's scheme

The highlights are kinda long because almost every time he was on the field he was making an impact

Maybe it's just us, but I still think a few guys in this class are underrated. Even if not by much.

Cotton and Brown should be 5 stars.

Long process though. And ultimately their site rankings mean nothing to Saban.

In case it needs to be said. I have Payne above Settle on my wishlist cuz he's an in state guy and he's a Nose in our scheme, which is a bigger need imo.

Settle is just a bit better overall though, in my opinion. Bo Davis could do wonders with him.

Graduated in 2010 and I feel your pain.

Being on campus for the 2009 season was an awesome experience though.

FWIW, our face timing buddy said we had backed off Settle as well. However, he said it was due to feeling confident in landing Payne.

That doesn't make much sense to me though. Payne is growing into a NG whereas Settle would play as a 3 for us.
