Bill O’Brien offense

Every TD was an improvisation by Bryce.
That’s what happens when you always run to strong side and never run a hint of misdirection.
Our running game is zone stretch plays.
The offense is bland and simplistic

It’s amazing how bland our offense is. He creates no mismatches and it leads to three and outs. He puts so much pressure on our qbs and wrs and it’s ridiculous. He needs to go back to the big 10.

Idk who is at fault, but it seems like we hardly ever see the QB drop back, step up in the pocket, and then fire to an open man downfield. It seems like every successful play is an improvisation of some kind like you said.
I will say this. As much hype as Bryce gets, he's not a particularly accurate passer in the way that Mac Jones and Tua were. It might be the case that a more accurate passer with more confidence in his arm, might make this offense look better, but i suppose we'll never know.

Just for the sake of discussion, is there any chance Bryce is to blame for some of this?
Yeah, we all marvel when see him run around and then find the open man downfield, but is part of that due to his height? Maybe he just feels more comfortable outside of the pocket. Maybe there are windows, but he doesn't trust his arm enough to fit it in. He's an elite decision maker, and has great poise and awareness, but his arm talent isn't on the level of recent QBs we've seen in the SEC. I'd say Hooker, for example, has more arm talent.

BoB is our version of Gus when he was down at Auburn. He does not understand how to utilize a full route tree at each position or how to blend those trees to manufacture open WR's.
He does not understand how to stack plays to create "screw-ups" by the DB's. He does not understand how to fully use the run game to set up the play-action pass game. He does not appear to understand how to use the pass game to set up the run game.
Our pass game works best when Bryce adjusts the call at the LoS or Bryce creates once he and the WR's get beyond the called play.

“A lot” means most. So no. Bryce isn’t perfect and has some issues but he’s not one of the main reason the offense struggles

First of all, our offense doesn't exactly struggle. We're one of the best offenses in the country.
However, I find it odd that Bryce gets all of the credt when things go well, and none of the blame when things go poorly.
I love watching Bryce play, and I'm glad he's our QB, but I think fans are blinded by his athleticism and improv ability, and overlook his shortcomings in the straight up passing game, and blame it all on BoB.

I really want this guy gone. He does absolutely NOTHING to help this offense. Creates no mismatches. Creates no confusion for the defense. No motion. Elementary passing tree. No “trick” plays. If Alabama didn’t have an elite QB capable of just making shite happen this offense would get shut down. Tonight’s play calling was absolutely pathetic. He HAS to go and Saban HAS to nail the next hire.

We also have a bunch of mediocre WRs which doesn't help, and despite having the best RB in the country, we can't consistently run the ball for shite.
So betweem BoB, Bryce, the WR recruiting & development, and the OL, idk who is all at fault, but I think we all sense that this offense seems to underperform, and never seems smooth and consistent.

Look, Bryce Young isn’t perfect but you gotta be fricking kidding me with the idea that Bryce belongs anywhere near like the top 100 things to blame for the offense struggles. He and Gibbs are performing miracles to save our arse over and over again.

Bryce has plenty of arm talent. But you know that. You're not an actual Bama fan and anyone who read your posts on the rant before you were granted access to this board knows this.

I finally come around after tonight …. Bill O Brien sux as a play caller.
We couldn’t do shite in the second half.

Not disagreeing with you. But I do wonder if Bryce throwing a crap ton last week and taking a bunch of hits on a barely healed shoulder affected him this week.
