Certainly he'll stay to the end of the season?
I wish him well.

We should be signing like 10 QBs in this class with all this attrition

I'm not sure what advantage he has by leaving now as opposed to after the playoffs?

It depends I suppose on where he is going and when their classes start. I mean if he's available for the semis but not for the final, would you rather start working Cornwell as the backup now?

i wish he'd gotten some more PT in some of the blow out games...besides the hand-off, run out the clock shite that little nickie expects his #2 QB to do.

I don't either...other than maybe he wants to enroll second semester.

Can't argue with anything Saban has done over the years, but I have always wondered why the backups don't get some meaningful snaps like other schools and get some experience.

You cant give kids snaps to keep them happy. Who really does this? Other teams have a starter and pull them when the game is out of hand, just like Saban.

Would be real easy in all these blowouts to put someone in for like half the 4th qtr sometimes instead of one minute to handoff twice and take a knee. Keeps starter from risking injury as well when game is in control.

No sense having Jalen take all the meaningless ones either. Yeah, Freshman and all that...if he blew out a knee halfway through the 4th quarter, how smart would CNS look? It's his kryptonite and I'm not bitching, just pointing out the obvious. CNS has a blind spot, NFL mentality when it comes to substituting and Coach Bryant got it right. He subbed early and often, to keep kids happy and to prevent his starters from having unnecessary injuries. Hell, he would even start backups on occasion just to shake things up. He'd call Joe Second Stringer into his office on Wed. and say, "Joe, you've been working hard in practice, son, and people have noticed. This ain't a permanent move at this point, but we want to reward your hard work, son. Joe, this week, you're the starter at left guard against Mississippi State."
It was brilliant. It kept kids working hard, it kept them happy with plenty of PT and gained the backups invaluable experience for when they WERE the starters. And like CNS, there wasn't much of a talent drop off. Why can't we sub one 5 star for another earlier and more often?? It would pay dividends.

...or give as much experience as possible to your 18 yr. old freshman QB?

or let the 2nd team guy get some experience in case the 18 yr. ole freshmen gets laid out
in a game in which bama was up 28 pts in the 3rd qtr.

Well I knew at least one of them would leave but sure as hell didn't expect it to be before the season was over.
