Lance Thompson leaving has been great for our pass rush. The outside linebackers production has really improved.

I know, and Auburn is wondering why their LBs suck

From what I've read 'bout the practices, I think Tosh Lupoi has really motivated the OLBs and coached 'em up...most of the beat writers always say he's on fire during the LB drills...

I can't remember who said it, but one of our LBs said that they had learned more in 6 weeks or so with Tosh than they had learned with Lance

I don't have stats to back this up but:

I believe we have played better D on early downs and have kept teams in 3rd and long. I also think Kirby has dialed up some pressure to go along with the great play of Allen, Willams, Reed and etc.

It's nice to see some of these guys "unleashed" out there

I love it when they're able to pin their ears back and go wide open.

Rashaad Evans going wide open at a QB has to mess with their concentration.

Watching these guys play this year has been an absolute pleasure. This is IMO the best front 7 Saban has ever had and it isn't close.

Tosh and Tucker were brilliant hires. Hope we can hang on to both of them for years to come.

I've been critical of Nick and Kirby's use of personnel in passing situations in the past. Not this year. They have unleashed the speed guys - Williams and Evans. Great to see. And I bet the DBs love it, too.

I wonder how the DBs would have played last year with this pass rush.

Remember all the times 1 or 2 D linemen would get off their blocks and start chasing the QB, but you knew they were never gonna catch him and he either going to run for a 1st down or hit one of his receivers coming back to the ball? There was 1 game (probably '12 or '13 a&am) where it seemed like that was every single 3rd down.

Christian Miller was a sack machine in high school. Hopefully he figures it out in college and we get him and evans sacking QBs next year

Rashaan Evans bursts to a QB like he's a RB who hits that next gear in the open field
