Am I just impatient or does it seem to be taking longer than previous year's coaching searches?

Say we get into February and boob is still here... That doesn't leave alot of time before spring to get new staff and and new offense in place. Says to me that people aren't knocking down his door. 2 possible NFL teams. That's it?

I was hoping we'd hear some concrete rumors about the DC at this point... Tracking planes, all that stuff. Nothing concrete that I can tell.

BOB isn’t still here. His contract was for 2 years.

I understand it expires in February sometime so technically he is still here.

I don't remember any of them ever being fast. Except maybe the ones that we didn't know were coming and were done by the time we heard about them.

NS works in secret when he does this stuff . He may have found his man but is doing a back ground check of sorts on him as this person may never have worked for him before.

I'd have to figure they'd just wait and announce bot OC and DC at the same time. I'm probably wrong though.

Has Saban ever dragged arse about anything? The man is over 70 and just signed a beast of a recruiting class.

When it comes to this stuff, he may have made a few mistakes, but he's better than anyone else out there at reforming a program every few years.

If there's silence, it's intentional.

Saban could already know who the DC is, but rest assured he's in no hurry to tell the media

Absolutely this. We as fans just aren't in the loop so it feels incredibly long

Yeah....Saban's known for dragging arse.
If you're worried about that, you've run out of any thing else to worry about.

Exactly, man. I'm never worried. Some bama fans just have 0 capacity to sit back and enjoy the good days like i have since about 2009. if it DOES drag on, there will be a reason for it that will work out in our favor, as it almost always does.

saban has not lost any steam on any level. i'm fking stoked to get a change of pace in the next few years with the coordinators, though.

He's still on the payroll until 2/28 but I'd be surprised if he hasn't already started cleaning out his office.

think he just got tired of losing coordinators every year so he stuck with these ones longer than he should. Don't think he's lost any steam

i think he was trying to keep stability more than anything. Bob is on year 2 only

I have no great affinity for Bill O’Brien and think his prospects for success here went down dramatically with Young declaring for the draft.

Still, I think we are all a bit too harsh on him. He actually managed a pretty high scoring offense for a unit with a dogshit OL in 2021. The 2022 offense would’ve likely been better if Young wasn’t hurt for most of the year.

He just had this problem with getting the “first first down.” Too many 3 play and punt drives. When the offense got a rhythm they were tough in 2021 and 2022 but BOB sometimes struggled with that first chain mover to get a drive rolling.

Still, part of the emphasis on absurd offensive efficiency was the fact that Golding’s defense is only built to play with immense pressure created by the other side of the ball.

No lie. It’s been a while since we had a solid OL. Steen was a guard playing left tackle last season.
