Come on now. We had 17 penalties against them last year.

To the point of harassing the wrong Ken Williamson.

Couple of still shots of potential holds, the hold on Burton, and the fair catch call that sucks but by definition probably correct

Once again, last year they got a PI call from 40 yards away and 15 seconds late on the game clinching play. Deal with it bitches

Facebook is literally being blown up by dipshit Vol and LSU fans over this. Can't even see the very obvious differences in the two faces.

They also seem to think that if an OL's hands are between the defenders shoulders and has some jersey, that's holding. They've always been clueless about that.

The two calls i'd be upset about if I were UT would be....

- Fair Catch KOR
- Defense clapping hands.

There was also an egregious call where Milton clearly was over the 1st Down marker. They reviewed it and got it right, though. So not a big deal.

With that being said; every game has some shitty arse calls. Some go your way... Some don't.

frick Tennessee.

That's only because if you were a UT fan, you wouldn't know the rules and probably would be too stupid to look it up. Just like in 2009 when they thought they should have gotten a re-kick when Cody took his helmet off. Or when they thought they weren't allowed time to get guys off the field in 2010 against LSU when LSU got to re-try the 2 point converison because Tennessee had 13 on the field paarticipating in the play.

Tennessee fans just tend to be morons.

Question. Is it really a fair catch call with that one player that raises his arms up by his side?

It was an INVALID Signal.

From the rulebook:

Valid Signal

ARTICLE 2.

A valid signal is a signal given by a player of Team B who has obviously signaled his intention by extending one hand only clearly above his head and waving that hand from side to side of his body more than once.

Invalid Signal

ARTICLE 3.

An invalid signal is any waving signal by a player of Team B:

That does not meet the requirements of Article 2 (above); or

That is given after a scrimmage kick is caught beyond the neutral zone, strikes the ground or touches another player beyond the neutral zone (A.R. 6-5-3-III-V); or

That is given after a free kick is caught, strikes the ground or touches another player. [Exception: Rule 6-4-1-f]

------------------

An invalid fair catch is the same as with a valid one — the ball is placed at the spot of the catch.

I have never understood the reasoning with LSU and UT fans bitching about officiating along with the SEC offices being in B'ham. Hell the officials fly in from all over the country to officiate.

A couple years ago, on a different Bama site, someone did the previous 10 years worth of games under Saban. We averaged more penalties than our opponents during that span. Stats disproved their delusion of home cooking, but whatever. Can't be swayed by the facts.

how many of them are complaining about the no call of the utk player coming off the top rope with an elbow to the side of the bama players head? if they're not complaining about that, then they need to shut up, they have no standing to complain.

Question. Can you use Google and look it up in the NCAA rulebook? Or do you want me to do that for you?

A valid catch is defined in the rulebook as the guy actually catching the ball extending his hand overhead and waving it from side to side. Anything else...by any return guy...is invalid and results in the ball being marked at that spot.

Edit...sorry, I didn't see that someone beat me to it.

Cry me a freaking river. Last year's game was one of the most horribly officiated games I've ever seen. If our guys had known how bad last year's officiating was, right before they coin toss, each captain should have taken our chap stick and spent 2-3 minutes rubbing it on.

When the refs ask, "What are you doing?"

Our guys, "We like to get kissed before we get f*****."

It’s one thing to complain about getting 17 flags in a 3 pt loss. Multiple game winning plays taken away. It’s another thing to complain when you lose by double digits and your opponent only gets called for 1 flag.

Shows me Tennessee needs around 17 flags thrown on Bama in order to even get close to winning.
