i was fired up when bama hired grant. i so expected him to do good things. i wasnt expecting calipari'ish things but did expect to be a regular participant in the dance. now that hes been let go i truly hope the best for him and his family.

i have no clue who we should or shouldnt try to get. just hope they bring some life back to the hardwood.

Now Battle needs to go out and get the right coach and get the program moving forward.

Hate that I was out of town all weekend and not able to get the TD info on it. Glad to hear a move is being made, even if it is a little late and it isn't promising that this wasn't Battle's plan the whole time.

I think everyone had a right to be excited with Grant was hired. It was considered a "homerun" hire in 2009. And looked to be paying off by year two, when Alabama finished a game behind UF for the SEC regular season title. It just never got better than those first few seasons. I'm just ready to be excited about basketball again.

I hope they take this chance to revamp the entire program. Including changing the atmosphere in Coleman. I won't hold out hope of them building a new arena, but if they allow the kids to sit close to the court on 2 or 3 sides of the court, and hire a coach that will interact with the public, I think that will go a long way to helping.
I also hope we find a guy that likes to get the ball up and down the court quickly. Thats my type of hoops.

I say spend some money and buyout Bobby Hurley's contract at Buffalo. He's got them dancing for the first time in that school's history.

Would like to get a coach who is a little more proven. Hurley only has two seasons under his belt as a head coach.

I was super excited. Just goes to show that it really is a crap shoot. You can make what seems to be an awesome choice, and yet it ends up, for whatever reasons, being a failure. There is no sure thing out there.

Battle does what everyone wants and when everyone wants it, yet still not good enough. Just as I mentioned on here a few days ago, the big$ guys make the decisions not Battle.

This

It wasn't in Battle's plan to fire Grant and he still had to fire him anyway........Now Battle will be told who to pursue for the replacement.
