after watching the tape, honestly, im reminded of a bigger, faster, stronger JPW. not sure how i feel about that, but that's what i saw watching him hand off and roll out. i think no matter who the QB is, we are going to have to rely on a strong run game. i wish we had a more dominant run blocking TE or HBack. Michael Williams was a beast blocker as a traditional TE, and Travis McCall was a monster blocker at HBack. Im not sure if we have somebody like that on the roster.

This was Greene's first year at the position and he did ok, I only expect improvement out of him.

In all reality we need him to catch a few passes this year so that we aren't tipping plays when he's in the game

I think you're right, Greene will develop. We listed him at 307 this year, throwing to a guy that weighs 307 isn't the strongest of ideas. If he drops to around 280 it'd be more feasible. OJ's blocking will probably improve too, and if Fowler gets back to how he was in that Michigan game as a blocker, he'd be a devastating FB/H-back. I also think we need to give Fowler all the goal to go carries. One, it rewards him with TDs. But secondly, it makes Yeldon and company more hungry to bust off and finish long runs, because they won't be getting the easy 1 yard TDs anymore.

Big Body, good zip and accuracy on the deeper balls, Some speed (+ bulldozing size) and can hit the RB in the flat decently enough. Did not see much to like on the hook and slant passes, though. The Majority of his slant passes were way off target.

I'm all for putting the best QB on the field, but I will say I'm hoping it's either Cornwell, Bateman or Morris, just because they originally chose Alabama, instead of coming to Alabama because of playing time issues somewhere else.

I don't want to see Sims as the everydown QB, but I will welcome some new wrinkles of "2 QB's on the field" situations.

I don't have a problem with how he comes to Alabama or how he ends up starting.....if he's better than what we currently have and I think he is.....START HIM.

He had some alright plays. Has some good run ability and arm strength is definite. Accuracy needs work. Even when he hits a receiver it's in the wrong spot, leading to a bunch of drops and tips. The batting at the line of scrimmage worries me.

However, if you look at AJ's backup tape it isn't much better. And he turned out to be the best QB ever to play at Alabama. Give him a chance to mold and he'll do great for us. If not, someone else will take over. We've got a horrendously easy schedule before our first SEC game in WVU, FAU, Southern Miss (combined 2013 record: 11-25). We'll win all three barring disaster and we'll figure out if Coker has what it takes.

I know some will try to flame me for saying this. But this "cut-up" makes me think Coker is a "Boom or Bust" transfer. I hope he can be successful, but If I'm Bateman, Cornwall, Sims, etc. I would like my chances of winning the job in comparison to how some Bama fans are giving Coker the job.

Same here, nothing stands out as a WOW, this guy is great/good. Kinda Hope one of the younger guys is better and wins the job. Ultimately I don't really care who's the qb as long as they win games

Sims backup snaps are as impressive as Coker's, IMO.

Reminds me of Ryan Mallet but a little more athletic then Mallet. Rock for an arm but sometimes it seems the ball is coming in to fast and hard for the receivers which is why there were so many drops. He doesn't look defenders off like he should but that'll come with more snaps and some film study. Like the idea of him being able to run. QB draws and bootlegs will be nice to have back in the playbook.

CNS's head will explode if he QBs so recklessly at Bama. I get that he is the backup and usually plays with the subs, but that video was full of basic mistakes; staring down receivers, forcing the ball into coverage, happy feet and one and done reads before he took off running. Granted, the blocking for him was mostly shite, but he has to get better before he will be good.
