Does anyone else feel like we've made some big time ground on west coast recruits? I mean Alabama is a recruiting machine obviously, and I don't have numbers, but it seems as though California is becoming somewhere that more often than not will have an Alabama commit or two instead of every couple of years.

Tosh is the main reason of course, for a couple of years Kiffin helped too. Our main problem to west coast recruiting is lack of Alumni who can help out kids after they are through playing football.Very few out here who can do that.
If we had some solid support Tosh would give USC some serious heartburn in California recruiting.

Alumni providing support to players, even ex players, is a slippery slope and not something I want to dwell on. In any event, most blue chip players are thinking NFL, so I'm not sure they're very worried about alumni support after they're through at Alabama.

It's just so damn far for friends and family to come, not to mention going home for Mama's home cooking and adoration, that I'm kind of surprised we do as well as we do on the left coast. Then, there is the culture shock I'm sure those kids experience, but the superior football "culture" at UA counters the social aspect.

St. Nick Saban is the best in the business recruiting nation wide so it's been a long time I worried about recruiting.
