In October of 2016, Kylie was diagnosed with Leukemia and began treatment immediately. Kylie is currently waiting to begin her fourth phase of treatment once her counts increase. She is taking oral chemotherapy, and in-patent chemo through an IV for three to five days every eight weeks.

As of today, Kylie has officially become a member of the Crimson Tide roster, and the Hosey family is now forever a part of the Alabama soccer family.

The child joins the athletic team and the student athletes join the child's support team.

She even gets a little signing ceremony with her parents and will be a part of the UA soccer team for the rest of the year.

Good for her, and I hope she has a speedy recovery/cure.

But I wonder how does this work? Does she count as an official member of the team. If so doesn't she have to be a student?

Childhood diseases are the worst kind of news for all of humankind. Terrible, you hope for the best for all involved.

But knowing the NCAA, Alabama will probably get put on some kind of probation for signing a girl that's not yet eligible to be a student

Even the NCAA isn't that heartless.

Baseball did the same thing for a young boy. I think this sort of thing got notoriety with what Nebraska did that for that kid a few years ago. Good to see more places are doing this.
