Bama was his 1st offer ever, I'm sure he knows where he's going. He probably just wants to have an announcement or something closer to school time for '14 recruits.

Tyler Luatua

It seems like the last few years we've had an out of state prospect that people will swear is a lock but we end up missing. Eddie Goldman last year, Nkemdiche this year.

Does Tyler fit the bill for our "one that got away" this year?

Not really. We came thisclose to losing Cyrus. It's the brother angle that makes it more likely for him to fit the "we definitely getting that gu...wtf just happened!!!!"

Depends on USC for Luatua, he's just as interested in them as he is Bama.

His parents seem to be ok with their son being across the country, but Tyler may not want to(his Favorites doe span the US though).

We'll probably know more when Nuss visits in May. Looking at his teammates Dallis Todd('14) and Kevin Dillman('15) as well.

If his brother bought into Saban I can't imagine he would buy into Kiffen. Not that being brothers ensures they like the same things, but you have to assume they had a similar upbringing, which would probably lead them to have similar value systems. Kiffy appeals to a certain kind of kid, and very, very few of those kids are also going to find Saban appealing.

I have to think there's a strong allure to playing at USC - the girls, the weather, the history, the star factor. Kiffin would definitely sour the deal though.

Definitely different sell points, USC sells itself more on atmosphere while Bama shows more presently on the football field.

Though Kiffin can say USC is a better place for TEs than Bama presently. Every starter at TE since at least '04 has been drafted to the NFL and only 1 is currently not in the NFL(Dominque Byrd). Even H-Backs and backups have been drafted and are still in the NFL.

I think OJ Howard has to change the notion of Bama TEs are "just blockers".

I wouldn't say he is a lock, but I'll be surprised if he doesn't end up a Bama...JMO

They are going to start really feeling the sanctions now too. This year was their last chance at being highly competitive for a while and they completely shite the bed. They lost so many commitments because their coach is a shite head that they couldn't even fill all of their spots this year.

Good point. What's even better is that Isaac hadn't even visited Tuscaloosa when he announced Bama was his leader and ultimately committed without seeing the campus.

We really blew him away on his OV too.
