I think the best and most likely class for us at this point is some combination of Fleming, Woodard, Butler or Richardson. I could see us signing 2 or 3 this year. I guess we are still recruiting Khavon Moore, Diante Wood and Trey Jemison (now at Hoover) too. It's definitely narrowed down now. Will probably be into October at least before we get any commits. Woodard has already suggested he may wait until spring to sign.

Maybe even less than 20. Vandy got in fairly comfortably at 19-15 last year. Assuming Texas, Oklahoma, and the SEC as a whole improve like most expect, our schedule would be pretty similar to theirs.

Y'all have a ridiculously hard SEC schedule

If you go by Rothstein prediction SEC rankings You play

2x vs #2,3,5
2x #10,14

Then you are away
@#1
@#6
@#7

You have six road games against the top six teams not Bama

That's a huge change from last year when y'all played

3x #12 (2x + SECT)
2x #14
2x #13
2x #11

Gene already predicted an AU sweep of BAMA on their board.

That's why I have us going the same conference record despite having a much better roster.

It's not like our schedule last year was the only reason we had a decent conference record though because we didn't even do that well against the bottom teams.

6-2 against 11-14
3-3 against 5-10
1-3 against 1-4

We were what you'd expect an average team to be. .500 against the middle, wins most against the bottom, and losses most against the top.

I don't think that's unrealistic. Auburn has a very easy SEC schedule this year again, and they have two borderline first round sophomores in Herron and Wiley.

If they don't make a big step this year, Bruce would deserve to be fired. It would probably be stupid for them to fire him, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't deserve it.

Ya, I'll predict it here too I never said I'm super confident on it, just that I personally think it will happen

People don't realize just how shitastically good Auburn was. We lost 6-7 games where we had a win probability of 75%+, 4 games w 90+%

That says two things, 1) Auburn talent/ability was significantly better than their record 2) Auburb coaching/players can't put together a full game

If you buy into experience improvement fixing the second thing, it is easy to see a huge jump for AU. We return basically everyone + add two top~50 recruits that have gotten high praise

Sure it probably is a more homer bias prediction, but you can easily justify it from matchup, last year's results and buying the hype

Ya a 10-8 record would be great w that schedule and deserving of a betterSEC seed than if say AU went 11-7

With how cyclicalSEC teams are in BBall it is pure luck how tough your schedule is

I don't really get how not closing out games you should have won means your talent is better than your record. Because one could argue in that sense that the team isn't talented enough to hold serve when the going gets tough.
"Talent was better than their record" doesn't really apply to 2016-2017 AU in my opinion. They either shot the lights out or they lost. There wasn't too much in between. And since no team is going to shoot the lights out every game, they were what they were. I'm not trying to hate on your team just because we are rivals, just my honest (flawed, I'm sure) observation.

I'm not trying to start something about AU in here either, but I will just point out that 11/18 wins we shot less than 37% 3FG including most of our "bigger name" wins over TxTech (31% 3FG), OU, UConn (22.7% 3FG), TCU (26.7% 3FG)

Except for Bama, our best games were when we played better inside

I should clarify, those are "In Game Win Probabilities" . As in, a team in that situation (e.g 7min to go) in a game has a 75% of winning

My argument is that to have 75+ 90+ win% and lose, you clearly were beating your opponent pretty soundly before your collapse indicating your team was capable of that level of play consistently

What do ya'll think of LSU? If you go on Tiger Rant this thread, they actually think it's going to be a good team. One baw even had them winning 12 conference games. Are they joking or are they serious?
